Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
When my screen shuts off my wifi disables, On Wmwifirouter this never happened to me. Is there a fix to keep it sharing with the screen off.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
Don't count on this working well wmwifirouter had so many hours of development testing and tweaking on it that I doubt htc will invest that much in look at your graphics drivers if you want another example of how htc half asses ****, this will be another htc half ***** mess

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
This isn't exactly a 'wmwifirouter killer' but a different product aimed at a similar market. wmwifirouter does a lot more than JUST wifi sharing. Please consider: http://global.wmwifirouter.com/features/
I like having multiple choices (especially free choices) but to say that this is a 'killer' or 'obsolete' really is unfair as it's not a LIKE for LIKE comparison. They don't have the same feature sets (not even close). HTC doesn't exactly have the whole Windows Mobile handset market locked either. There is still Samsung, Motorola, Sony, etc. |
Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
Heh this program overwrote my WMWiFiRouter settings, both wep key and ssid. Now when I run WMWiFiRouter 0.91 I get wifisharing as name and 1234567890 as wep key hehe

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
WMwifirouter is also less likely to tag your data (like the original tethering app) so that the cell companies can charge you for clever usage of your phone's features.
Free is nice though. If its all you need, go for it. |
Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
which one has longer battery life?
which one continues to charge with use? |

Neither continues to charge with use, though an HTC provided app is more likely to serve the interest of the cell-carriers than it is the consumer, so future versions may not be so "free" to use. |
