I tried Sport Pal and was impressed. However, as others have mentioned here and in related threads - using the device as a GPSr kills the battery pretty quick and not always at a convenient time. A dedicated GPSr is a better solution and used ones are not that expensive.

The dedicated GPS devices are better, no doubt, i used to have a forerunner 105.
But now since I don't have a device like that I'm satisfied with the GPS on the phone and the software for i. Yes the battery is a problem, usually on my phone last for around 4 to 5 hours.

has anybody tried GPSed? you can attach pics on the trail with GPS enabled camera.
