accurate weather info??

weather panel is my all time favorite weather program by far, but it does not seem very accurate on displaying the current temp in my area at times(rochester, NY) At other times, it is right on.

This morning when I went outside at work it really felt hot. I updated weather panel & then compared it to some other options. Here is what I came up with:

1. weather panel said the current temp was 71º

2. TF3D2 rhodium said it was 72º

3. weather underground said it was 74º

4. weather bug said it was 79º (that is about what I would have guessed it was)

What have all you guys found to be the most accurate weather info in your areas??

I'd have to say WP is the most accurate in L.A. It comes closest to what the weather gurus forecast. SPB weather is often 5 degrees or more off.

PocketWeather is the best. they use metar stations.

Yea, SPB weather is a joke IMHO. I don't even have it installed anymore.

I have found as far as the actual forecast for the upcoming weather that weather underground is the most consistently accurate.

In this area however, weather bug (on my PC) is almost always right on for the current temp. I'm sure that is partly because WB gives you so many different locations to pick from & at least around here there is always one right nearby where you are actually located instead of a general area done by zip code (one of the locations is a school that is five minutes from my house).

I quit using PW last year because it was so damn buggy I just couldn't stand it anymore (I'm not the only one).

Has it improved any since then??

My experience is that the National Weather Service is the most accurate in their forecasts, and in my area they use the county airport for the temps. In order to have the most relevant local temp, I use weather underground (mobile), because they have a reporting station about a half mile away.

I havent tried all the options that u have but WP is pretty accurate in my area. Usually all the temps from various sources are within 2 degrees of each other so its ok i guess. I have weather on my pc, WP, and my truck and they are all pretty close. Ill check some other places and let u know.

I just updated weather panel again & it's STILL claiming it's 71º

My weather bug is now up to 80º & that feels about right. Weather underground now says it's 77º

Have you updated with the new dll from the WP thread? If not, then the program won't update. - sheureka
