GPS For Water

Hello...
I've been a fan of google maps, for gps, but I've found 2 things that it doesn't seem to do.
1: Set current location as a favorite (it only sets searches)
2: Show distances as the bird flies
I'm doing some water stuff and I want to be able to get back to my starting location and see how far I went. Are there any programs that will do this?

Bing/Live Search maybe?
Also try NoniGps.
You can find those with a little search. :)

I use a program called run.gps... it's got a great online interface that you can view your track either in realtime or any saved track. It keeps track of lots of stats like top speed, elevation, even calories burned if you're doing something like running or canoeing.

Cool...
I'm looking at all three. It looks like I should be happy with at least one of them.

Garmin Mobile XT with special ocean maps loaded if you're in the ocean. The standard maps should work well for all inland water.

You can try with sportypal, go to their web site, download the version for your phone, then just choose freestyle from the menu, it works for me when i'm driving with the car around.

Picture from my workout. I took my phone on a kajak trip in a river.
It looks cool.

Sportypal looks cool, but it's lame having to register from the phone. In this instance, I don't have internet so I can't use it.
