Re: True Caller ID
With TrueCaller, the caller id works as the call is ringing, before you pick up the call.

The developer of TrueCaller said that there will be a nominal charge in the near future, for certain countries. There is more info here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475561 Last edited by Biker1; 08-17-2009 at 12:55 AM. |

Running it on MR 6.5 right now (which I assume it doesnt like, WM 6.5 that is) and it seems like it's a simplified White Pages directory search app at this point, at least for me. Because when a call comes in, the app doesn't pop up and identify the number, so basically after the call comes in, if I choose not to answer, I can then run the app, type in the phone number (manually for that matter), and then it supposedly connects to a whitepages type of database. At least that's my experience with the app. Not based on my experience at least, but i think that may have to do with it not liking WM 6.5 more than anything else. In fact, that's what I use it for at the moment, because it doesn't work during the incoming call for me, only after the fact as you speculated. It's pretty basic and intuitive in that regard, just run the app, punch in the number, it will do a lookup for you, and then provide you with contact information -- assuming the number is listed and its not a cell number. Ive downloaded another app though, that also works after the fact, and gives more extensive info about the caller. It's called NetCallerId There's a thread about it over at XDA and one here too. Unlike TrueCaller (once more based on my personal experience), NetCallerID will automatically provide you with caller info, also after the fact, but at least you wont have to punch in the numbers manually, as it will basically read the info from your call list. Here's the XDA thread on NetworkCallerID by the way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494433 |

Re: True Caller ID
I tried it. It didn't look up the the number for me either. Really weird because the older version used to look it up (tho the results sucked). I understand this version is completely rewritten, so maybe it no longer works the same and it affects CDMA devices because of the whole no net + voice thing.
Good thing we're finally going to get simultaneous voice and data! Maybe then this app will work as advertised for CDMA peeps. |

Re: True Caller ID
I received the following response from the TrueCaller Developer regarding the issues I was having >
"Hey Biker1, That is too bad. I dont know of any other user with the same issue, but if there is an issue in TrueCaller, hopefully it will show in the few days to come! Thank you for your support anyway and I hope to see you back with us in the future Last edited by Biker1; 08-17-2009 at 11:30 PM. Reason: response quote |
