Re: S2U2 v2.02 is Now Available

Thanks for the explanations but I didn't use my pc to unzip the files. I clicked on the zip files from my Diamond and extracted them.
I think I should be alright as S2U2 has been working perfectly for many hours. Also downloaded Memmaid and cleaned out alot of duplicate notifications which appears to have helped.
v2.02d takes care of that though as A_C has increased the threshold to 500 records.

Re: S2U2 v2.02 is Now Available

Hey all,

The new version, but the battery on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro drains in about 6 hours (of non-use) as opposed to about 24+ hours WITH light phone use when s2u2 installed.... Bummer!

Biker1 07-04-2009 09:28 PM

Re: S2U2 v2.02 is Now Available

Alittle confused by your post.
Are you saying battery drainage issues give you 6 hrs with v2.02d and 24hrs with S2U2?

After some issues, S2U2 has been running perfectly for the last 40 hours with the original 2.02d so I'll stay with that.
Since unzipping 2.02d properly and installing Memmaid, everything is good including my Diamond running really nicely which it has not done for awhile.
Regarding other applications running smoothly, getting rid of the duplicate notifications has helped alot.

OK Question.I have this running but what settings are you using? my phone is doing the old time not updating while S2U2 is on.Like if right now i don't touch it for 2 hours it is alssep and if a alarm went off it would nto work since the time does not update unless i hit the power button.

What are the settings to use so this and other stuff works right.

Use a Registry Editor like Task Manager 3.1 by dotfred and go to

RegEdit tab >
HKCU >
Software >
S2U2

and delete the s2u2 folder

BE CAREFUL!!

Biker1 is correct, but I would really suggest just installing the new version over the current and see how it works. Usually that is all you need. Deleting the reg entry is for a clean install to get rid of a pesky bug nothing else fixes. As Biker mentioned, the be careful is something to take to heart when playing with the registry, you can really mess things up with a mistake, and trying the new version really won't lose anything but a few minutes of testing for you!!

Re: S2U2 v2.03 is Now Available

Thanks guys, Ive done reg hacks before, I just didnt know where to find the S2u2 folder. But I followed your advice and just installed the new one over the old one. So far its working as it should, even Smart Reader is working on the Omnia, and it didnt seem to work with the previous build. Thanks for your help, at least if something goes screwy now I know how to do the totally fresh install to see if it helps.

Re: S2U2 v2.03 is Now Available

If you need to do a clean install, clean out S2U2 from everywhere, including the kitchen draws :)

You know what I don't like? How A_C doesn't update that "Changelog" that's on his site.

A_C gets like that. He is quiet for a while and people start thinking he quit, and then he will have a huge version release and for a few weeks after new versions will pop up to tweak/fix thinks in the last big release!!! All great stuff though!!!!

Biker1 07-12-2009 11:11 PM

Re: S2U2 v2.04 is Now Available

I received an answer from A_C regarding the Changelog not being updated on his site.
It is because he is thinking of separating v1.x from v2.x
Just wanted to let you guys know who were asking.

Yes, A_C works tirelessly to try to have S2U2 work flawlessly on everyone's device and that's alot of devices :)
Don't know where he gets the time which includes responding to people's emails and pm's.

A_C is the shiizz!! I guess it makes sense seperating v1 from v2
but w.e he decides on doing, i would love to see the new changelog on his website haha

I understand, but the guy has been popping out new versions like every other day, and its not like most of them include new features, it is just that he made a couple changes in an attempt to correct a ton of different problems on a whole slew of phone models. Is it really reasonable to demand a changelog for every single time? Maybe Im misunderstanding something here, but it seems a little bit like some people are a little too demanding (not you Inertone, I just hate when people post all these demands over at Xda, Im not trying to say you are being demanding)

Re: S2U2 v2.04 is Now Available

I love the new style in the v2 series so far, but one bug is driving me nuts](*,)
The today screen flashes for a split second before S2U2 displays when the device wakes. I've tried adjusting the wake up delay in both directions and I've tried both Raw Frame & DirectDraw. I believe this is specific to 6.5 roms. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!

P.S. I'm new to it, but I'm very impressed with the omnia (and winmo in general) community.

THANKS

Re: S2U2 v2.04 is Now Available

That happens once in awhile on my Diamond and it has happened on previous versions..
I don't know the technical reason of why it happens but may just be a small quirk in S2U2 but really of no consequence :)

On my i910, it happens on every wake-up. Functionally, I don't see any impact...but aesthetically, it's very frustrating. Such an elegant app when working properly.

Re: S2U2 v2.04 is Now Available

Any way we can get the "PhoneNoFormat" back? I do not like the canonical format (1 (###)###-####) or the standard format (##########). I would prefer the old standard (###)###-#### without the "1" in the canonical format. It's a petty thing, I know, but I would like to see the standard format back. Wonder why he removed it?

Maybe a registry edit will do the trick?
I will try to find out and get back to you.

Update:
I am waiting for the answer and will let you know when I know.

UPDATE:
Just spoke with A_C and as of now, there is no way to change the format. The original is gone but A_C is "thinking of other ways to tackle it but not sure yet."

Maybe a cab I can download?

Re: S2U2 v2.20 is Now Available!!

S2U2 v2.20 is now available as of 12/10/2009
Thank you A_C :)

Here is the Change Log >

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/icons/icon1.gif (10 December 2009) S2U2 v2.20

What is S2U2?

S2U2 (Slide2Unlock2) is a simple lock/unlock application which has the iPhone style slide unlocking. It can be used as a screensaver while you don't use your device. It has a CallerID function (but it may not work on some devices, so try it before use it daily); S2P control plugin; and volume control. S2U2 shows many system information even without unlocking and highly customizable.

Prerequisition:

- WM5 Phone or WM6/6.1/6.5 Professional devices

- free RAM: at least 1M for QVGA/WQVGA; 4M for VGA/WVGA

- free storage space: at least 2M for QVGA/WQVGA; 4M for VGA/WVGA

Changes of v2.20

- removed the option "lock the device after any phone call when Bluetooth is on".

- added option "InCall Lock" (S2U2 Settings -> General)

either don't lock the device during a phone call; always lock; or only when Bluetooth is on.

if CallerID is enabled, connected time of the call will be shown on the lock screen.

- added option to release the Volume Control key lock, i.e. adjust the volume even it's locked. (S2U2 Settings -> Phone)

- fixed an occasional issue that Dotfred's TaskMgr would hang when running S2U2 since v2.x.

- fixed the small volume bar of the VGA/WVGA S2P control plugin.

- fine tuned the CallerID and S2U2 Settings for HTC Pro2 & HD2.

but it's not recommended to use the CallerID together with the WM built-in lock.

- a few minor bugs fixed.
