Re: S2U2 v2.02 is Now Available

Im having a major problem, and I dont know what to do because I seriously love s2u2. Everytime I do a soft reset, the first phone call I get, caller id doesnt work. My phone will ring or vibrate, but there is no way to answer the call .Even if I unlock s2u2, the call is invisible. So every time I softreset my phone, I have to call myself from another phone to get that first call out of the way, otherwise I will miss a call from work like I did this morning. I have an Omnia, and the battery life sucks for me since I use push email, so I have an extra battery on hand at all times, which means I soft reset my phone to change out the battery almost every day. To have to call myself from another phone everytime is too much hassle. I hope they fix it, I really really want to keep s2u2, I finally got every other problem I had with it fixed, this is only one left...

not sure it will help, but here's a script I wrote last year.
if it does the job, you could add a wait time to it and add it to the startup folder.

also have you tried turning off CID?

I experienced a nagging email notification on the startpage...even though I unchecked that box and had no email pending...also text on startpage was hard to read...the date was fuzzy looking...and yes I also unchecked the text effects. I have an HTC mogul.

This is nothing new. It's been a problem for a while now. I'm surprised that A_C hasn't fixed it yet. It must be a major issue for him to have not figured out a fix. My suggestion, call yourself after a reset so it doesn't happen.

Shaggy, was this directed at me for the problem with the first call not coming in? If so, thank you so much. What does it do exactly?

So you have it too? That is what Ive been doing, just calling myself. It just sucks because I mess with my phone alot and have to soft reset, not to mention I switch my batteries out since I use it so much, and that requires a soft reset. Its not the end of the world though, Im still going to keep s2u2 on my phone.

Yeah, I have this problem too. Like I said, it's been around for a while now.

And back to having to use the power button to wake the phone...I have settled on the fact that it has to do with the Blank Screen Only option in S2U2's settings. I have gone several days with that option set to Off and been fine. But, if I set it to on, the problem arises within a few hours.

It has to be something with that option and the fact that the Omnia does a lot of things differently than other PPCs, including how it blanks the screen.

You guys may want to check out this quick-fix A_C just posted, it seems to address some of the issues being talked about here:

This hot fix v2.02c is only applicable to v2.0x. It only contains the iLock2.exe & S2U2.exe. It fixes:
- the notification queue warning will only be shown once after update (but I still suggest you clean it when the warning is shown, please try Memaid or dotfred's TaskMgr)
- CallerID did not work on some devices (e.g. Spainish)
- after soft-reset, the first CallerID would not be shown on some devices
- improved Ans/End response
- some hardware keys not locked on some devices

If you experienced any one of the above issue, please try it out & let me know the result.

BTW, as I don't want to pump up too much post on this thread, I may send a private message to follow up your case. So please read your PM. Thanks.

OK, I tried the new fix, reset my phone, called myself, and the call went through ok. So far so good, I'll keep trying it to see if there are any other new glitches.

Edit: What do you guys have in the S2u2 settings, what do you have under this setting: "On wake up, delay (ms) start of S2u2", and also what do you have under "Boot-up Delay"? Does it help to delay any of those things, or is it better to keep it off?
