Dumb answer maybe but make sure you have the wifi switch ON from your phone if it has one.

Thanks for responding to my question. for may people the would be the right answer, but in this case it is not. That is whats bothering me. Wifi switch is on, says it's brooadcasting but my compter doesn't see anything. after more review i can't see any wifi. the chip might be bad. i've read it's a problem with these phones.

Re: WMwifi router problem

Hmm, on the trial version of WMWifiRouter, I can't get the iPod Touch to recognize the internet. I get an IP address on the Touch, but in Safari...it's a no go on getting a page to render.

I'm running version 1.25 build 600 of WMWifiRouter. Are you saying there is new beta version that I should be using instead?

EDIT: Disregard, turns out the wireless on my 6800 is busted. Won't pick up any of the 6 access point in or around my house, but the wife's will. Grr. Going to be a long business trip.

Switch to version 1.30, that solved all my problems. My 16 gig touch connects immediately & works super.

Install & configure WMwifirouter on the TouchPro, then go to settings in the Touch & select WMwifirouter for the Wi-Fi setting.

WMWiFirouter is awesome

I realize that is old news to most people here, but I love this program more all the time.

I started using it a while back to tether my 2nd gen ipod touch so I could use the awesome ipod screen & safari browser for everyday browsing as that totally blows away any of the WinMo options (& works super out in direct sun where my TP is useless).

Now, I have another use as Sling Mobile now works in the ipod but only with WiFi. I have been tethering the touch & then using it for TV viewing which works super, the larger screen really works great for that.
