Slingbox Mobile version questions

I recently redid my LAN & replaced my router. My Sling Mobile setup in my TouchPro is actually working almost perfectly at this point (I was never happy with its performance in the TP before) even in landscape mode.

I get a virtually perfect picture on my 7" DVD/NAV screen in my truck which was never the case before.

Now, every few days when I start the Sling Mobile software it is saying there is a "new version of the software available" & asking if I want to DL & install it. I started to say OK the first time, but then I got to thinking that it is working so well why should I change anything so I backed out of the install.

Now I'm wondering if anybody here has installed this new version & if so what changes did it make??

Also, does anybody know how to save the custom channel lineup you set in the mobile software??

I have called Sling Support before and they said there is no way to do this at this time.

I have been on version 1.6.0.114 for what feels like a month or so. It works just fine on my 6800. But since there's no change log (that I can find), I can't tell you what the differences are between it and any older versions.

What version do you currently use?

Well that stinks. It is hard for me to believe there isn't SOME WAY to do this.......

I exported the registry information (HKLM\Software\Sling Media). After a hard reset I just install Slingplayer and import the registry file.

That is the best way to keep your settings, and also stops you from having to re-enter your Sling ID. It's very handy.

I have an adage. If works Don't fix it. I downloaded and installed the new version on my daughters laptop, and it does not do a lot any different. but I had to reset up my router after it screwed it up. There was no major performance difference. Keep what you have it it works.
