What I want to know is why doesn't it have voice prompts (or any audio prompts for that matter)? One reason I like the idea of GPS navigation is so I don't have to take my eyes off the road.

Long as I'm at it, why can't Google or Bing plot me a route home and then show me where the cheapest gas (or anything else) is along that route?

Why? Maybe 'cause it is free.

Which was an acceptable excuse for not having turn by turn voice prompts till I found out about AmazeGPS and I understand soon in Waze. If they can do it there is no reason Microsoft and Google can't be doing it.

Exactly the way I think. Bing right now is slightly ahead of Google I think as it DOES to re-routes and also gives you distance till the next turn. It also beeps before the next turn and also when you make the turn. I know it's not as good as voice but it's something.

Two main things things I would be happy with is voice and north facing maps. Oh and trow in 3D view and i'd be a happy camper.

How is AmazeGPS now? I haven't tried it since like the first two releases a while ago. It was a bit ruff then, maybe it's a litttle better now so i'll give it a go.
