Ya know, to this day, I still think WinAmp is the best out there, simple and functional. Can't be beat!

Yeah, I havn't seen too much for visualizations for WinMo, definitely nothing like MilkDrop or Geiss.

This little Swirly app. is about the closest I've found to that type of visualization, though it is not music responsive and is simply a stand alone app. that has a water pattern on screen, that you can touch and manipulate with your finger.If you wanna try out Swirly, just extract the attached file to your device and run the .exe file.

Just thought I'd also mention that the player I attached here, also supports most Winamp 2.xx skins. Just change the .wsz extention to .zip and unzip the files to a folder and point to that folder using winampaq. Happy skinning!

Wow, I've been moved to a thread with mostly me in it, kinda weird. I just wanted to thank Coz for movin' it here, since this is where it belongs. I had to respond to the "no Winamp" cry for help. That was the only reason it was posted there to begin with.

Here are 2 more Winamp alternatives for those who are interested.




Now both of these players are fairly advanced and I have s2p (slide to play) by A_C and thats a good player but i think that these are as good - s2p is a good free player though - http://www.ac-s2.com/)

But both players also support winamp 2 skins - this is very important becauce then you got a collection of 1000+ skins (http://customize.org/winamp2)

Features:

- this player has (custumizable) crossfade and supports MP3, WMA, WMV, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, and WAV
- It also supports many visulation modes.
- It has today Screen Support.
- It supports EQ
- And plays net radio very well.
- Have more options then Pocket Music has.


Pocket player in full screen mode. Looks good. But now that diamond has a vga screen is has to stretch the skin to fit it. But it looks okay


pocket player not in full screen - it cuts off the playlist manager buttons but pocket player doesn't support these buttons anyway.

- Has crossfade (not customizable)
- supports only a few visulation modes
- It supports almost EVERYTHING on a winamp skin. (this is a big plus)
- Also had a today screen plugin.


Now this is a picture taken in full screen mode. it support alot more then pocket player does with winamp skins. As you can see the mini graph is also displayed on the EQ and total time works also.

You can also remove the EQ - cannot be done with pocket player.


You can also make winamp small - really cool thing - can also not be done in pocket player.

Original playlist of pocket music - not as good as pocket players. It is not as touchfriendly.


So my conclusion:

Pocket player is the most advanced player. It can support winamp skins and alot other skins. I think this is the best and most stabil one. Also on incoming call it works like a charm. I will recommend this player if you want a really advanced player (probably the most advanced out there) but don't have the need to get a fully working winamp skins on your mobile. S2U2 also works fine with this player.

Pocket Music has really nice skin support for Winamp 2 skins. And it works really well. But it is not as advanced as pocket player. So I will recommend the player if you REALLY like winamp skins and like to have (almost) full support for it. Works fine on incoming call but when S2U2 opens it stops playing for a half second and the screen doesn't go out instantly.



Well that was my choise when it comes to pocket players.
If you think there is a better pocket player out there please forum back so I can have a look on it.
