Re: Slingbox Mobile problem??

I dont know about you guys, i love slingbox and i think its one of the best apps available for our phone, but when things go wrong, they seem to go "really" wrong. Can get frusterating.

Re: Slingbox Mobile problem??

Hold up, do you know how to login to your router? If so, go to your port forwards and see if you have a forward setup for something like "sb04838fye85" with port 5001 forwarding to 192.168.0.254 or some other number. Just make sure you have 5001 forwarding to your slingbox. You will also have to look in your router to see what it is assigning your SB as an IP address.

Yea, logging into the router is no problem but it doesn't look like it's doing any port forwarding at all. That's what the setup is failing at apparently & I'm not sure what the settings are supposed to be to enter them manually.

It assigned the address 192.168.1.254 to the SB

Re: Slingbox Mobile problem??

If you can, make sure that uPnP is enabled. If it isn't then the slingbox can't set the port forwarding up. If you can't find that, find out the ip address of the sb and setup a port forward to it with 5001 being the port. That will do it for you-

THANKYOU, the POS is working again........

uPnP was enabled & it still didn't work, but telling it to port forward port 5001 to 192.168.1.254 worked..

I agree 100% & I really LOVE the setup, I use it daily.

It can certainly be annoying, but it doesn't hold s candle to the problems I had when I bought a POS Hava setup.............

Re: Slingbox Mobile problem??

I was using a Linksys router that I hacked to be a repeater. SB worked fine for a month or so, then I would have to reboot it. Not a problem until I wanted to watch something and couldn't connect. So I went hard wired and haven't had a problem since. Yeah, they are stable, but when they go down, they go down in a blaze of glory....

What do you mean "hard wired". Don't you have to have a router somewhere in the line to run a Slingbox??

I had mine hooked up wirelessly with one of those Slinglink setups & that didn't work for sh!t, but now the SB is hard wired directly to the router & has worked perfectly until RR had a massive outage yesterday.
