FingerPrint Security

I seen several ad's relating to FingerPrint Security on Windows Mobile. I'm looking for an ap that has a FingerPrint Security. Has anyone seen this?

That would be amazing! As the only thing preventing me from integrating my life onto my device is security. I have fingerprint security everywhere, laptop, PC, home, office, etc.

Re: FingerPrint Security

You would need the hardware, as no software can make our screens 'read' a fingerprint. Now, if we had Veriface technology, that'd be a different story!

Thanks for confirming my assumption. :)

Sounds exciting until that particular finger gets messed up or cut off, then what do you do? Just one more thing to contend with.

Idk, just putting it out there. Take a pic of the finger from about 2 inches away and maybe it reads from that pic? Just a suggestion from outside the box haha.

I guess that could. I didnt see it that way. I think i would need a better camera than the one my Vogue is equipped with for that though. :angry7:

They had a fake program like this for Palm way back, the trick was you had to hit a certain button before touching the screen with your thumb and then it would let you in to the device. If you friend did not see you hit the button they could turn it on and off touching the thumb print area on the screen and nothing would happen. It was fun for about 5 seconds.

LOL wouldn't we need that fingerprinting to, say, unlock the phone? So, how do we unlock the phone to use the camera to record fingerprint? :P

Paranoid? Far from it. Just security for the phone, but other than that.. paranoid isn't it. Convenience is.

My PC? I hate typing in my password. I log in using the fingerprint.
Laptop? Same.
Doors? I hate keys! Keys are so 20th century.

I guess since some things can be unlocked maybe the camera would be unlocked. You turn the screen on and it instructs you to press center button for a scan and it would take a pic, I just thought I'd make it interesting.

Ah, yeah. That makes sense.
And trust me, anything's possible contrary to what most people would consider it an April Fool's joke. Too bad technologists are far behind ideas in an age like this. We consumers come up with great ideas that we know can take a shape or form considering we have all this technology, but these idiots slow it all down.

My old argument was just the same, when Palm had PDA devices with Touch screen why couldn't they have either integrated a cellphone chip in that device and made it a cellphone, or vice-versa?

Anyhow, I'm ranting away now..

well it is completly plausable, after all the Q9n (Napolean) had one installed. I mean you would probably have to rig the scanner up somewhere on the phone. Other then that... have fun with it :)

Re: FingerPrint Security

kind of off topic, but instead of a fingerprint scanner why not have one that uses the light sensor to unlock your phone. kind of like morse code. for instance you could set up your pass code to be 2 long taps and one short tap. just an idea.

Where would the light come in then?

Especially on phones like the iPhone that have a proximity sensor built in. im sure that would be an amazingly profitable app!

I don't trust fingerprint "security."
If you can even call it that.
Even I can lift a fingerprint and use it to unlock on fingerprint scanners.

I would pay to see that. Not saying it's not possible.

They did an episode of Mythbusters on spy stuff, and they were able to lift the prints and fool the scanner.

Yeah, I saw that episode. But if a normal man like the other guy can do it, I'd like to see that.. he made it seem very nonchalant, so I'm thinking it's very easy. :)

Ahh, very true. I would like to see this 'joe schmoe' bust out his anti spy tactics. lol.

I don't know about you guys, but my Touch Pro is a finger print magnet. There are so many of my finger prints on it that anyone could lift one of those and unlock my phone.

Oh man, GREAT product, talk about awesome timing with our talk, eh, lol. That'll be great. Mobiles are becoming very life-centric, they ought to have good security coming in now.

I want a fingerprint scanner for my car, just to unlock it. Have it right under the door handle.

The fingerprint thing is a really good idea. You could incorporate something like Devicelock on 6.5 or s2u2 and have as a security match, turn the camera on, take a picture of your finger (just like I-nigma does barcodes) and voila!

Sweet the cam idea wasn't so bad haha. Jk. It would be awesome if there was a way to get it to work.

Somthing like this but smaller, bluetooth, and on your keychain (running off watch battery)? Just don't lose your keys (like I always do)

Face recognition technology is kind of broken because you can hold up a picture of the person and the computer (some even with basic depth perception technology) can't tell the difference.
