REDFLY Mobile Viewer Beta.

Hey guys check this out by Redfly. I havent really played with it that much yet, but I dont see a huge difference from using Mymobiler.
The REDFLY Mobile Viewer software for Windows XP and Vista by Celio Corp, let's you conveniently use your favorite Windows Mobile applications at full size on your PC.
REDFLY Mobile Viewer is highly unique in its approach to unleashing your smartphone's hidden potential. REDFLY technology changes the output screen resolution on your phone allowing you to see more information in a larger window (4 selectable resolutions from 800x480 to 1024x768 depending on phone model and available memory). No other software in the world gives you this great feature. REDFLY Mobile Viewer doesn't just make your smartphone's screen bigger, you actually get more screen "real estate" to see more of a website, email, spreadsheet, etc. - without having to zoom and pan around the screen.

Try it out, http://www.celiocorp.com/install#viewer

Cabs removed, please follow instructions from link.

That really stinks :( After i started using it, all my menus text are alot smaller now. In regards to your issue, and I'm not saying you did this, but did you double check and make sure you installed the correct cab? Not sure why else your phone would be affected so badly.

IMPORTANT: For optimal performance, you should always update your REDFLY Mobile Companion firmware to a version matching your phone driver software. Download both the appropriate operating system version of the driver software and the REDFLY firmware to your phone before beginning the installation. This is also true for the REDFLY Mobile Viewer application, whose version should match your phone driver as well. REALLY IMPORTANT: Unlike desktop systems, which have become highly interchangeable over time, smartphones vary considerably by hardware platform, operating system and even carrier customization. Customers have occasionally found that our drivers will install and run on Windows Mobile phones that are not included on our supported smartphone list. Please note that you do so at your own risk and that Celio Corp will not be responsible for any issues that result from installing on a non-supported device. In general you should first backup everything on your phone, as in rare cases we have received reports that installing our driver on unsupported devices can cause the phone to become unresponsive and result in the need for a hard reset.

See instructions here: http://www.celiocorp.com/install#viewer

I would reccomend using a program called SafeMode3.1 on your phone in case this type of thing happens again, you will be able to boot into safe mode.

I can't think of a practical use for this. If someone could help me out I'd appreciate it.
Does this install as an operating system on your laptop that you boot in to or as an application within XP or Vista? If its just an app on your computer then why wouldn't you just use your computer?

Re: REDFLY Mobile Viewer Beta.

It completely hosed me - I can't even hard-reset right now:(

Anyone have any tips for hard resetting on the TP?

I've tried taking battery out, putting back in, holding volume down/center button, hitting power (no go)

I've tried holding volume down/center bottom, resetting (no go)

same as above but with OK key instead of center button (no go)

Sometimes I get arm11 errors, other times I see the screen redfly viewer is loading (on top of the green startup screen) then crash..

I've gotten the hold volume up to hard-reset once or twice by itself during restart - but holding volume up doesn't do anything:(

Any tips for hard-resetting?

My guess (if this works for some of you), is that I also had the updated ATI (or omni?) drivers on here - so there must be a conflict...

Yeah, I'm having a little trouble figuring out why you'd use this either.

Possible thoughts:

Tethering can be terribly slow in non-3G areas, so this might be a slightly better solution for mobile web browsing, especially if you can use a compressed browser like Opera 9.7

You could manipulate office docs on a computer without Office, although keeping a PC copy of OpenOffice Portable on the device is a better solution IMO.

GPS display on laptop?

Registry tweaking might be a little easier?

The best one I can think of: Testing and tweaking new mobile software from your desk without having to actually fiddle with the phone.

To hard reset your Pro you need to power down, while its off, hold Vol down, circle, and then hold Power Button. Give that a shot. I had the same problem with the Ati drivers.

This is pretty much the same as MyMobiler, It just allows you to view your PPC on your desktop with a larger screen and you can use your mouse and keyboard to click and enter text. You can also take screenshots or video and transfer files. It is very useful for things like setting up your phone after a hard reset, or while your at work to just control your PPC from your pc using your mouse. I still prefer MyMobiler because its free.
You can get it here:
