+1. I remember a previous thread where there was talk about hard resets. I realize that it's not a final release, I just don't want to get stuck with a hard reset if it's truly not ready for prime time on my phone.

has anyone been able to get the new notification file to install? The one he sent out won't install on my phone because of a non trusted file or something like that. Am i the only one?

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

i noticed after installing the first policy cab, disabling tf3d, rebooting, then going to settings, remove programs, my program list was empty.... i guess this makes it uninstallable? balls.

For what it's worth, after installing it on MightyRom 4.12 my programs list was completely blank - meaning it wasn't possible to uninstall TF3d2 or anything else.

All in all not too bad, Not as fast as the traditional TF3D. Landscape is kinda cheesy, it looks all squished in and very unuseful.

Contacts tab is broken, TF3D Restarts consistently.

When i installed the .cabs my clock was an hour behind, didn't notice, came to work one hour late because of that. Alarm went off at 7am meanwhile it was really 8am.

Random access within the tf3d is squished together.

Stocks tab is cutoff the screen.

6-7/10

It's not THAT bad, something nice to play with, but i don't think it's ready for primetime yet.

The new start menu is great but is taking me some time to get used to. Slows things down alittle.

Mike, I agree with you. It's fun to play with, but if you use your phone for business, it's not something you are going to be happy with.

Re: Touch Pro 2 port 3/22/2009!

I've posted full instructions on the load of the new port.
Download link and file is attached as well http://rapidshare.com/files/21200597...PACKAGE_V1.rar
- Hard reset to stock rom strongly recommended! but not required I installed from of my HD port.
- Go to start/settings/system/power/advanced/ and uncheck all boxes. Go back later after full install and reset to what you want
- Install net cf 3.5 or have a rom with net cf 3.5 built into it. I used my stock rom with the HD port already installed and seems to be fine so far.
- Install "xbmod policy.cab" from the "Required" folder to the device, NOT the storage card, this goes for all the cabs.
- Turn off TF3D in settings and do a manual soft reset.
- Install "XBmod VGA Rhodium Manila.cab" to the device. This cab takes a while to load, be patient, then hit "OK" to restart.
- It may seem a little disfunctional between installs, just be patient till the end.
- Install HTC New Contact Card.cab then click "OK" to restart.
- Now go into settings and turn on TF3D.
- You may want to install some of the cabs from the "Optional" or "Manila Tweak" folder and I will report on these cabs later.
-Delete the My device/Application Data/HTC/databases/forecast_cache.db file BEFORE you use the weather tab.
-Go to the settings tab and click on "Customize Tabs" and you can turn on or off the tabs as you like and rearrange them.
-At this point your new TF3D port form Touch Pro 2 should work perfect and before you load programs or customize go get familar with it, then you can begin to customize.
-You can now go back and correct your power settings to what you desire.

I didn't even notice this because it was too early for me to send a text. I could live with all the bugs for now, but being unable to text is a big one for me.

Holy crap, the new people tab is awesome. When you click on someone, it has tabs for texts, emails, etc that you've had with that person. Sweet.

Everything works for me except the weather tab.

hibby50 03-22-2009 12:05 PM

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

yea but in those tabs you cant send a text on cdma

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

Agreed, tf3d reboots constantly, not that great... I think like Mike said, that it isnt ready for primetime yet. Good effort though by xbmod and whomever else ported it. Cool features, I'll probably use it once it is stable. Too bad it isn't uninstallable... maybe OP should edit first post and put that disclaimer in there. ahh off to hard reset!

hibby50 03-22-2009 12:12 PM

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

added that

I agree. There are going to be many people out in the community who want to get their paws on this. I am included in that want category, but, I am not trying to hard reset. OP, can you edit your post and let folks know about the known issues, how it's uninstallable, amongst the other things? There may not be people who use the search button or do research before installing tf3d2. That's just my two cents.

Just installed the cabs, not bad but I like to play with it a little more first before I form an opinion. As for the constant reboot, make sure you delete the \Application data\HTC\databases\forecast_cache.

Haha well I don't really have to worry about that cuz I use the Palm app. It still would be great if CDMA texting would work...

I don't mind the CABs, but I'll hold off at least until there's an uninstall option.

Looking really nice, but after reading through this thread, too many bugs for me. I'll wait it out until it's more stable.

im not having any issues my contact tab other than the sms one. it lets me add favorites no problem...however i had the older beta version of the tp2 manila already cooked in then just added the cabs on top so that may have something to do with it

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

Yeah, there's supposed to be some bug fixes released today apparently, hopefully that'll fix some glitches.

Until then.

I'm using it as we speak, but i'm definitely reverting back. It's just not ready. U can feel it. Needs some more baking in the oven

The curiousity is killing me though to download it and try it out at least lol

Good looking out as always Fat Boy!

So this port will work with the stock Sprint ROM that has build 19965.1.2.3 (CE OS 5.2.19965) on it? I know there was a lot of talk about having a certain build at times during development.

MightyMike 03-22-2009 12:47 PM

Re: TP2 Manila UP!

Well atleast try it. No one is saying not to.

It looks great, don't get me wrong.

Just some oddities here and there. Minor ones to say the least.

I am currently running it on my original stock Sprint Rom BUT there may be problems that I find.
