We hope. As it is, with 1.6 we have CDMA as an option, I believe its just a matter of a bit more time before we figure out the implementation of it.

well as far as hoping for stuff, once they get android fully cdma ported hopefully we can run actual hero ui on the poted android. That wouldn't suck.

I have tested out and compiled personally the latest kernel 9-26-09 and it fails miserably for CDMA - avoid it.

Just thought I'd mention that working instructions for the Diamond can be found over in this thread in the Diamond section (thread started by toastcfh):

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=84214

Basically, it requires a modified zImage file from a post on XDA devs (credit goes to MrPippy):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...0&d=1252565799

...and also the start up script is different too. Take note of the MTYPE and msmts_calib values.

Code:

set RAMSIZE 0x08000000
Set ramaddr 0x10000000
set MTYPE 2040
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
#
# The following kernel parameters are useful
# ppp.username - The username used to connect to the network when dialing #777
# ppp.password - The password used to connect to the network when dialing #777
# msm_sdcc.msmsdcc_fmax - The maximum frequency (in Hz) used by the SD controller
# pm.sleep_mode - The mode used when the phone is off
# 0=Power Collapse Suspend, 1=Power Collapse, 2=Apps Sleep,
# 3=Slow Clock and Wait for Interrupt 4=Wait for Interrupt
# Default is 3, use 0 for best power savings
# board-htcvogue.panel_type - Panel type used to power the panel off and on
# 0=Don't power off the panel (Default)
# 1=Hitachi 2=Topoly 3=Samsung
# mddi.width - width of the scaled display
# mddi.height - height of the scaled display (these should be multiples of 16 for the camera to work I think)
set cmdline "msmts_calib=0x81.0x393.0x358.0x7D msmvkeyb_toggle=off mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480 lcd.density=240 ppp.apn=sprint ppp.username=username ppp.password=password no_console_suspend"
#set cmdline "no_console_suspend"
# fbcon=rotate:1
# console=ttyMSM0"
Boot
mkdir /proc
mkdir /sys
mount -t proc proc /proc
mount -t sysfs sysfs /sys
mount -t tmpfs tmpfs /dev
mdev -s
"ls -l /dev/mmc*"

I've attached my start up script below.

Thanks, I'll give this a try. I did not know that the phone had to be plugged in when booting this android version. Just keep it on the charger when booting and unhook when its done? My diamond boots into Linux, but then blacks out after it goes through some code... and occasionally shows the underscore... not sure it the charger thing is applied to this or not.

After it boots you can remove it yes. If it is black, on my RAPH800 I just click back or home and one of the two brings up the screen.

Good luck.

So i got Android to work...and when I did, i had phone capabilities. It was great. Although it only worked for 30 minutes before it restarted, it was fully functional. besides GPS, and WIFI and BLUETOOTH. the only thing is that when i turned the wifi function off, it restarted,. maybe thats what did it. but i has phone... i has happy.

Were you using WiFi for the phone or were you actually connected to a G3 network?
