awesome phone app

I have been using >>this app<< for a month or so in my TouchPro & I absolutely LOVE it. The more I use it, the more impressed I am.

The app gives you a huge really nice dialer skin & it will work with the stock WinMo dialer setup so you can have an awesome big button dialer skin & also totally eliminate the incoming ring lag that the HTC dialer skin produces.

It also works perfectly with both PocketShield & the black & white s2a apps. The call history screen is really cool too, it gives different color icons next to each previous call telling you if it was a call, an SMS, an MMS etc etc etc

If you see a name in the call history with the SMS icon next to it & highlight it, right in that line it will scroll & read out the previous SMS right there.

The favorites screen is really nice too, you can pick the size of the photo contact (which looks awesome). From that screen, you can assign a speed dial/send an SMS/add more pages etc etc etc

When you're on the dialer screen, as soon as you start to enter letters/numbers etc it immediately starts reading out possible contact matches across the bottom of the screen in selectable blocks.

Everything in the program -dialer screen/contacts/favorites/history etc etc responds lightning fast with no lag whatever, & every section is customizable so you can set it up any way you want.

There are screens for filters/statistics/custom rings etc etc, you name it-it has it.

There are so many settings you can change in the program, it took me a few weeks to realize how many cool things it can actually do.

I use it in conjunction with the latest version of PocketShield & it's awesome. My phone has virtually no incoming ring lag whatever & has never once dumped a call to VM without my knowledge with this setup.

I am also using the "in call screen tweak cab" that tuns the screen on/off by tipping the phone during a call & that integrates perfectly with the rest of the combo also. This is how the phone should have come from HTC in the first place, but at least it's possible to get it to this point yourself.

I am trying it out and so far it seems pretty cool. Havent explored it all as yet. One thing I noted that it does not do is that holding down the 1 key does not call voicemail.

Not by default, but it's no problem to set it up that way (I did)

The only issue I had with this program is that it takes forever to index your contacts when you reboot your phone. I have about 1700 contacts and it takes a few minutes.

LOL, can't say I've ever had that problem but I don't have anywhere near 1700 contacts (I might have 200)

Hell, I don't know 1700 people in the whole world that I want calling me..... ;-)

reason i'm asking...you said 15 bucks (on first page) and you bought it ( upgrade)...I'm assuming you didn't have one installed before. So if the 15 dollar version works like the 30 dollar version, i save 15 bucks!

It seems to read the contacts already in the phone, and after putting a new one in outlook and syncing, it read that new one as well. Although, I see a lot of the old dialer screen show up now and then, especially when ending a phone call. I was hoping this would remove the old dialer completely, instead of working over the top of it, just the way any program does.

That's exactly it. We use ACT at our office and I sync all of our customers with my phone so I have their information handy if I ever need it.

So I like the ap, but I can't seem to find the speaker phone button anywhere in this. I have to sit through tons of conference calls that I just mute and put on speaker. Any help?

Re: awesome phone app

The speaker phone button should still be there during a call??

I just tried it & it worked fine for me.

Re: awesome phone app

Everytime that I hit call status, it takes me to the dialer. I can't find any option there to switch to speaker. I close it and then select call status again, it launches the dialer again.

I'll try re-installing it and see if that helps. Otherwise, it might be time to invest in yet another headset.

EDIT: Reinstalled it and now it goes to the regular call status. Not sure what was going on, but now it's working out great.

That's odd, if I hit "call status" it goes right to the screen with the speaker phone button.

I just tried it to be sure & I tried it with both the HTC dialer & the WinMo dialer, it worked fine either way.

Re: awesome phone app

I have not made up my mind yet. Maybe its just my phone but i have the lock caller id screen option selected and using the standard vga caller id skin, sometimes it asks me to slide to unlock, and sometimes it shows the regular (original) caller id screen. I even have show contact photo unchecked, but it still shows the persons picture, and its a small pain to answer the call. I am loving the profiler part though.

Is anyone experiencing any of the problems that im having?

Re: awesome phone app

I'm experiencing a different problem - bluetooth. For some reason when this software is installed and running, bluetooth seems to stop working. I mean, it works in the sense of being on, but it won't transfer incoming/outgoing calls to my car, which obviously happens when this software is not installed...go figure...

Also... I like this program. It looks great and seems to work even better. But....

When I recieve a call, it seems to be fighting with the manilla for a S2A. You can see the manilla S2A flicker, and sometimes if I slide the iconsoft one, then i also have to slide the manilla one. kinda annoying.

Also, how do you get it to call voicemail?

Ditto.

Re: awesome phone app

ok. after taking a few calls, it seems to have figured out how to get past the S2A all by itself. if a new person (someone who hasnt called me since intalling the app) calls, then sometimes it has an issue, but over all its good to go.

Still havent figured out the voicemail though.
