Latitude is junk!!!
 

so i finally set my location, added the requests ive gotten, im assuming their members from here lol..

but so im playing with the sat map... and the pics easily from at least 8 months ago.. i know cuz 1) theres no snow and im in MI and 2) my building is next to a new construction home, and the house thats been done for 8months isnt finished yet in the pic...

yet another google disappointment.. not sure why i expected better though lol..

so i guess my question is, is everyone elses sat images as far behind as mine?

What did you expect, real time updates? Dude, its a map of the entire world, think you need to kick back and thank the Google gods for all of their gifts.

Temper your expectations, it's not a real time view of your home, and the mapping satellites only pass by your location every few years (they are constantly updating and mapping other parts of the world). If you want to figure out when you are due for an update google it, there are people that track that stuff and like to put up huge things so it's caught on the maps


My satellite images are 2 years out of date.

Yeah there a few years old. My house is not on there, and I've been there since 2006. But like sporklover said its a picture of the entire world,. its gonna take a while to be updated. I have no problem with the program itself it seems to work fine. It is kind of fun though to guess when the picture was taken. Then see if you can find your car.

It still shows my house with a blue tarp. The image goes back to '06 or so.

I checked out my dad's place with the sat view and there was snow on the ground and about two blocks down there was nothing. You could see a nice line where the images were put together. Works for what I want...for now. The next release better let us control a sat. lol

I could see it now, GoggleSat, control the google eye in the sky...In beta, of course!

well the pics from here at my house are from dec. 07. i know because i can see this big red stupid xmas decoration the old lady made me set out in the front yard lol.

I checked the pics from the business I own ... just inherited it last year becasue my best friend died and left it to me. HIS truck is parked out front. Made me cry and smile at the same time.

I hope they don't update Pueblo, Colorado, for a while.:)

Cities are updated alittle more frequently.
