This is helarious on several points! First of all Latitude is just the piece that shares your location with friends on a map. It has nothing to do with satellite imagery.

Second, sattelite imagery, as others have indicated, is not anywhere close to real time. You're lucky if it's within the same year. Same is true for Google Streetview, although that tends to be more recent. Please tell me what site on the internet you can get sattelite imagery that is any closer to the present day than what Google Maps has? Google even has their own sattelite now presumably so they can start producing more recent imagery and more detailed imagery for places that don't have it. You complain about not having something recent, but some areas have imagery that is many years old when the technology was such that the resolution was much less than what you can get today, so you can't even zoom in very much. We'd all love realtime images, but that's just not possible with the current technology and probably won't be for decades! Talk about unrealistic expectations...

While Google is the internet gods, their imagery isn't always the most up to date. Microsoft's and Yahoo's imagery is newer than Google Maps for my area.

It appears Microsoft has updated the helicopter views...

In my area, Yahoo has the most up to date maps....Live is 2nd...followed by Google.

The street view stuff though, that's the best stuff there!
