Google Sync question...

If I set up my phone to use Google Sync, then I lose the ability to activesync with my computer, correct? How then can my PC's Outlook calendar be synced with my Google / phone's calendar? Same for contacts.

Also, if I use Google Sync and connect my phone to my computer, will I still be able to transfer files back and forth? Just not able to sync with Outlook, correct?

I'm so confused...

I just started using google sync last night, and extensively today, and it works great. I have not lost any ability to activesync with my computer (I know as I am connected through activesync to use data in order to sync with the exchange server for google sync.)

I, personally, don't use outlook, but I would think that all three would be syncing just fine.

Also, transferring files back and forth works fine for me.

Re: Google Sync question...

A further question from another slightly confused potential user... Will it sync both ways? i.e. I have very few contacts in my gmail presently but loads in my phone... If I sync, will gmail then be updated with all the contacts that are currently in my phone?

If you want to transfer files you can still go ahead and do it without setting up activesync. When you hook up to pc you should be able to go to my computer and see removable storage and transfer that way of click connect without setting up (or at least in vista and wmdc.)

As far as syncing outlook with google I would just do a google search if it is something that you really want to have. Here are a couple of results

http://www.syncmycal.blogspot.com/

and I think that google even had an app that would install and stay in your systray for syncing calendar and outlook..

EDIT: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/200...microsoft.html
This is the app from google I believe.
