Yes, this seems to be an issue with the wavdev.dll on the Stock TP Rom. Swapping it causes the Voice Command error and no one can hear you.

This program isn't a necessity, but I so want it to work! I really think it's time to start looking at updated ROMs. If anyone has got this working on a Sprint TP Stock ROM, let us know!

In fact, WM has supported incall recorder via reg modified from AKU1.4, it supports any dialer pad.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\AudioRecording]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"EnableCallRecordMenuItem"=dword:00000001
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000001
Not on the wm6.5 dialer.

It's definatly related to wavedev.dll. Has anyone using a stock rom or stock-based rom found a solution?

NOTE: Slide To Answer MUST be installed first. If its not already cooked into the ROM you are using (Sprint Stock Rom does NOT have it cooked in), then you must install it first.

Black and White versions here

Finally got it working after much fiddling. Here is what I have although I tried many things to get here so the order might be different (or it might not work at all) for you.

#1 - Installed Slide To Answer

#2 - Edited the registry so that I had these 3 entries... If they don't exist you might have to create them (but shouldn't). If they do exist they must be set to all zero's.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\AudioRecording]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Voice]
"EnableCallRecordMenuItem"=dword:00000000
"AllowInCallRecording"=dword:00000000

#3 - Install the cab noted in the quoted post (post #117)

Recordings are saved to \My Documents\Notes as amr files. I do not have voAMRNBEnc.dll installed in \Windows and am using Mighty Rom 4.6.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get them saved to internal storage and figure out why I cant start the ICR program. I'm thinking I might need the voAMRNBEnc.dll to actually see the ICR interface although it is not required for the record function to work.

Also, the volume appears to be too high for recording and I get crackling on the recording. It is possible that this can be fixed by lowering the headset volume but haven't tried that yet. Bedtime

NOTE: I also had recording working without using ICR. If I uninstall all ICR files in the \Windows directory (or by using remove programs -> better this way) and set all of the above registry settings to 1. I get a record option in the call menu which is the 4th item in the list (not the last as with ICR). Files are saved to the same place as wav files.

Re: Perfect InCall Recorder 02/28/2009 Updated

Has anyone had any luck getting call recording to work on WM 6.5?

I tried the wavdev.dll file, no improvement. Other side is VERY low

Re: Perfect InCall Recorder 02/28/2009 Updated

Great thread, but it unfortunately seems to confirm that WM 6.5 + ICR = low volume on recordings with respect to the other party on the call.

Re: Perfect InCall Recorder 02/28/2009 Updated

Did anyone get this to work with a Verizon TP? I installed the .cab on the 1st post but do not see the option to record before or during a call. I attempted a soft reset and reinstall with no luck. I do not have the registry values listed in the 1st post as well. Should these be created during the install or do I need to manually add them? I have S2U2 installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Perfect InCall Recorder 02/28/2009 Updated

So, I got the record option to show up with the stock WM dialer (6.1), but the recordings sound really crappy as if it's recording directly from the mic, you can't hear anyone on the other end. Is that all this does? I thought it utilized the phone's hardware.

How can I fix it so that they're clear on both ends?
