HOW TO STOP PCM FROM CONTROLLING SMS!
Just wanted to let everyone know that you can now stop pcm from controlling your sms WITHOUT!! removing the smsintercept.dll

as quoted from the pcm .14 settings

# avoid PCM to become topmost when getting a new SMS
# useful if you don't want pcm to be your incoming SMS
# application, while keeping faster response time for PCM
# when you get a new SMS
add the following line to your settings.ini file

bring_pcm_to_front_on_sms=0

HOW To REMOVE THE CONTACTS LINK AND RESTORE TO ORIGINAL CONTACTS:


first. go to HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/1 and change the value to :MSPOUTLOOK contacts

on any phone BUT treos this will work..

second to go HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
Default set value to Contacts
Open set value to "\Program Files\Contact Manger\ContactManager.exe"

you may have to create the "Keys and 113" Key and you will definatly have to create the Open String value

as far as categories i do not know the answer to that i know he is still developing so we can hope

This is a great app! If you like the iphones and touchs scrolling contacts this is the app for you that dont have it! This works on WM5 and WM6 tested by me on the Apache, Treo 700wx, and 6800. Thanks for posting! :thumbleft:

Just cleaned up the first post alittle and attached version 0.9 to the board for easy downloading.

unzip to a folder any will do. then run contactmanger.exe. u could also change the reg as stated in th first post to launch with right sftkey. a cab installer will be coming soon.

When I tap the executable nothing happens. I just makes a noise as though it it openning.

did u extract everything to a folder? because without the .ini files in the same directory it won't run. ;)

Made a cab and added a icon to the .exe. It will install and take over the right softkey to launch this app, and it will also give u a start menu option.

I installed this and when I clicked on it in the programs it gave me this message:

"This application (ContactManager.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device"


Where can I get the newer version?

Glad I got here while the .cab was posted lol works perfect and matches my custom WA2 gray skin!

Yes, glad it is still being worked on, loading time, occasional jitter, more sensitive scroll. Also if it could add support for emailing options etc. But still this is the best contact manager, and iPhone style contact manager I have used.

Heres how to replace the regular "Contacts" shortcut with this one.

Go to this entry in the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS

change,

String 1
from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts

to "\Program Files\Contact Manager\Contact Manager.exe"

Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry.

Now the contacts shortcut and contacts softkey (phone and mainpage) will go to the new program.

Nice one. I had been looking for this for the OEM when I made it several days ago and forgot about it. I would imagine this will be bundled in the kitchen.

An option to replace the Contacts softkey would also be nice. Here's what I have in my current OEM for this...

Hey Mike, I downloaded the cab in the first post and installed it and was able to use it from the programs menu. I absolutely love it, BUT it didn't do the reg edits for me. What prog do I need to do the edits?

The new cab seems to have changed the registry to use the softkey. However, when I click the button to choose contacts, I now get this error. "contact manager cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. you might need to reinstall".

Appreciate any help.

I had to redo this on mine to make it work. The reg entry should have read:
"\Program Files\Contact Manager\ContactManager.exe" Just remove the space in contact manager.exe and it will work.

Cab Fixed again... that was my fault i based the key of the old cab mike was using it should work now...

Its worked fine for me so far. The download is available on their website right now, but I didn't read up on sharing. I just installed the .9 version from this thread and overwrote it using the .10 zip.

I had trouble installing it over 0.9. it seems to install to a dir with a slightly different name so it wasn't a direct overwrite. and when i went to uninstall 0.9, it did not uninstall completely. i think i've fixed it with some manual deletion and manual editing of the start menu.
