Restart PocketCM and you have lastname sorting.

It should work. You need to give it some time to recreate the cache.
You may wish to make a small change. Put a comma after lastname in the formatting line.

contact_sort_expression=%lastname %firstname
contact_header_formatting=%lastname, %firstname

okay gotta say i love it but how can u make the icon panel in the bottom smaller? its too big i prefer the old style with the hide and back soft keys, i was already use to

could either I remove the SMS features, or could you release a version without SMS.
It really doesn't work right, so after trying it for a week, I went back to the treo threaded sms

i really like the program, but it keeps interfering with the SMS of the phone itself

I honestly think it's best to just stick with contacts and phone numbers, and be great at that, rather than be mediocre at several things

please? :)

Okay, I must be really ignorant about this, but it still doesn't work! The contacts are still organized according to the first name and when you scroll it using the alphabet on the left side, it will only do it based on the first name.
I created the file: settings.ini using notepad, is that the way to do it, do I need to include anything else in this file?

What would the command be?

Could you add on the next version where you can choose, if anyone like to select "last name, first"

In the previous versions, the names were displayed based on what I had set as "File As" in Outlook. I've found how to change from firstname, lastname, etc, but how can I change the settings to again display my contact names based on what I have set for "File As"?

Thanks!
Priest

1. i dont make the app i just found it and updated the post so requests will need to be made over at pocketcm.com

2.make a settings.ini file and these commands too it then save it and copy it over to \program files\pocketcm on your device

contact_sort_expression=%lastname %firstname
contact_header_formatting=%lastname %firstname

Ok, I found the answer. In settings file, just change:

contact_sort_expression=%fileas
contact_header_formatting=%fileas

Restart PocketCM.
