Re: Official Google Sync
Huh? There's no executable.
People here are some easy to follow instructions: http://www.google.com/support/mobile...36&topic=14299 1. Open up Active Sync (Start > Programs > Active Sync 2. From Active Sync Window Select Configure Server... (menu > configure server) 3. Enter m.google.com as the email address 4. Make sure This server requires en encrypted (SSL) connection is checked 5. Click Next 6. Enter your full gmail email address as your username (e.g. YourPatheticAttemptAtBeingWitty@gmail.com) 7. Enter your gmail password (make sure to pay attention and capitalize anything that needs to be) 8. Since you entered the @gmail.com in your username the domain field cannot be filled so leave it blank. 9. Click Next 10. Make sure to CHECK ONLY Contacts and Calendar (Do not check email or tasks...you will continue to receive your email via IMAP or POP3) 11. Click Finish 12. Pat yourself on the back Last edited by sbrown2680; 02-10-2009 at 11:31 AM. |

Re: Official Google Sync
This is terrific. I set it up for my calendar and it's been working flawlessly. As mentioned before there's nothing to install, you just configure Exchange Activesync for calendar and/or contacts. It's too bad there's no mail but hopefully that will follow. For now I'm using an IMAP pusher service that works in conjunction with poutlook so I have push GMail e-mail as well as the calendar. It's not a bad solution for now but I'd love to have mail through EAS as well as the calendar.
