Internet Sharing + ActiveSync/WMDC

So this may not apply to everyone, In fact, it may have only been me...but I digress

In case some didn't know, Internet sharing will not work on a computer that does not have active sync installed. Now I know I'm going to get some replies that i am completely wrong, but let me explain.

My main desktop is the only computer I had Activesync installed on. I wanted to use my laptop one day, and our cable was out, so I fired up Internet sharing, or so I thought. Could not get the thing to work, saying there was no working driver found. So I tried my fiancee's laptop, same problem. After an hour of wondering what was going on, I put in the active sync cd, loaded it up, and viola!, It worked. So if your somewhere and you try to use Internet Sharing and it doesn't work, try this first.

Now notice I said ActiveSync all you people sitting there shaking your heads in and looking for that "Quote" button to prove me wrong. I have not tested my theory on WMDC, only XP machines.

IF this was common knowledge, close this damnded thread.

Adios.
