Don't know if anybody has posted this specific program but it is BY FAR the best tracking software. Response time after SMS message is sent is phenomenal and accuracy is amazing. It's a free BETA program so it may, in the end, cost money but for now it works GREAT.

Hope this benefits you as much as it did me.

Again if this specific program has been covered I apologize for the "re-post" but I do feel that everybody should have this installed as phones get stolen all the time.

Well the mods feel free to merge. I searched and didn't find it. For those who can't sift through and find it then hopefully they can now. I think everybody should have it.

This one is 10 times better than Sprite Terminator in my opinion.

I'm not worried about the lack of "thank"...haha As long as people get this on their phone just in case :) Glad it got that many downloads though. I love this app.

This is by far one of the most important apps for me. I've had friends recover missing phones with it, and I've also used it when I'm an idiot and leave my phone in my fiance's car and I have no idea where she's parked at the mall. :smile:

Here is another fun idea you can do with it. The best part of this program is that you can make it run only in the background when activated by SMS so whoever has the phone has absolutely no idea unless they happen to catch the "phone is doing something" icon at the right moment.

just setting it up - question - I assume it has to be running to work? Do I put it in my startup folder - I'm new at this stuff so exactly how do you do that?

just install the cab. open the program go into settings and choose to have program run in the background.

Installed this on my Touch Pro and can't get it to work. All I get is Initializing GPS (9/10)... and never gets a lock. Tried manually set to COM4 and auto. No love :( Anyone get it to work on a TP?

Works here on my Touch Pro, using the default settings, just enabled background mode and edited the email address, didn't even touch anything GPS settings wise.

i was using the juggalo rom and i had the same results you describe. i then flashed to the latest mightrom and it worked.

the only thing that doesn't seem to work in either rom i tried was the email -- outlook pushes back an error. i'm not sure if this is because of a configuration screw up or not but i've just disabled that functionality and use the sms response.

i can now text using AIM to my phone and it'll send me back its current location. brilliant.

i use it on my friend's touch pro, just to mess with her. she has no idea its on there. default settings, sms sendback, it gets a lock everytime i text "getnicole" lol

i use terminator, but the url they send lately doesn't work, but the long/lat are correct so i just plug that into google maps when i need to find my phone.

Same, but I get 0/9
Prior to installing this, google maps gave me my location fine but now it does the same thing as the tracker prog.

When I go into the program log I see the text I sent from aim, however it says something about waiting for location and never gets past 0/9

Is there somthing like this for BB's ? I forgot I had this program and it works flawlessly, its great to have for that one time you wished youd had it.

Seeing that this program works so fast, I'm assuming it has GPS on all the the time?

Or does it turn off when not in use?

Has anyone seen a decrease in bat life with it running in the backround?

I think it just turns on when needed, i havent experience decrease battery life while running in the backround...

when it detects the text it opens the program in the background, then finds the location and if successful sends the reply.

It works fine on my Diamond using Groove rom. Tried it to see if it worked and ti was awesome.

I can't get this to work. Works fine for the test email but when I send the SMS code it never sends the email.

Any ideas?

Sorry just to clarify, has anyone got the email part working properly. It works fine for the text msg part, sends a location right away, but I can't get the program to email properly. When I do the test, I get an outlook error or something.

Does anyone have the issue of opening to program up again after they've set to 'Background Mode' to on. After this has been turned on, it obviously will open in the background only, any way I can turn this off so I can get back into the Settings?

Also, could you set multiple email addresses?

open the settings file up in word and edit the background part to "false" then copy/replace the file

So I sent a text message online to my phone, put getgpspos and then my phone loaded and sent a text with the gps coordinates to the phone in a text message ..

I didnt get an email yet but I did get the test email.

Should I do the edit the file in word and copt/replace it too?
