Ok searched the Mozilla ftp site and found they just released alpha 3 TODAY.

This is why it was "leaked" and not officially announced yet. It's still in development, not anywhere near being ready. If they officially release it, all the idiots come in to trash it without even knowing WTF is going on.

Even though the alpha was sooooo slow, I was able to dab around and check out some of the features. I hope it can hold it's weight in the ring with Opera Mobile, but if they add more features to Opera Mini like tabs, there will be no stopping the Mini.

Release it Mozilla!!!!!!!! :)

Speaking as a Nokia tablet owner, I have used their Fennec for quite some time now, a few months at least.

Fennec is garbage on the N800. Maybe it works better on the 810 as the n810 has a keyboard. It crashes constantly. Like, type in a url - if Fennec will let you use the onscreen keyboard - and .. uh oh, ok load restart Fennec.

Sure it kinda looks smooth if you can keep it running, sliding right gives you your open tabs, sliding left gives you bookmarks, settings, plugins etc. But what good is all that flash if the damn thing crashes so much?

I also own the (Sprint) Touch Pro, but I am not putting Fennec alpha on my phone. However, when the official beta drops this week, I will probably DL that out of curiosity, and see how this build stacks up against the tablet version.

Based on my experience with Fennec on the n800, my expectations are that this is a shoddy product, certainly not ready for release.

I would think that those guys at Mozilla would want to get their product to a more stable state before going beta.

No software keyboard, which is why they say it's only for the Touch Pro, although I guess you could use it on another vga device that has a hardware keyboard.

Looks like its similar to last weeks version...you know, the one that doesn't work.

Edit: It's still as craptacular. Nothing but black and white boxes still.

I didn't try the earlier version, but did it suffer from the same problem?
