Quick side question.... How have you guys been able to get opera-mini on your Touch Pro? I wanted to try out operamini just as I will want to try out firefox. However, every time I try, their website tells me that it is not compatible with my device.

Here you go..

Well, after doing a little of privacy violation (http://people.mozilla.org/~blassey/) I can see that besides him looking for new colors for his bathroom, there's pretty much every version of the Fennec mobile browser there. There's one file called fennec.zip, this appears to be compressed folder of what would go under program files once installed. Don't really know if there's any useful information in there (aside from his color choices for the walls) that we could actually use, or if we have a final version in there... seriously doubt it though.

Um, that's the same filename as the one posted in the OP. Doubt that's the latest version.

Tested on my Vogue, completely unusable. Took a while to load then when it came up it the on-screen keyboard would not work so i could not go to any address. I was able to click on the options and look at the UI and that looks good. Hopefully a working build comes soon, definitely has potential.

So, everyone that is complaining that the version linked to in this thread is slow, doesn't work, etc, try and remember a few things: That link was originally given to other developers (and onlookers) during a developer's chat on IRC, so its most likely a developer's version, which means it likely has a ton of debug code still in it. This debug code provides useful error information to the developers when the app crashes or they terminate it, etc. Developer's generally don't care if the app runs slow while they're debugging it and in good software, that debug info is removed prior to release to the public. Once it's removed it will most likely reduce the executable size by quite a bit, and should speed up execution as well.

Please don't take this as a flame. I'm a developer myself, and just thought I'd come to the defense of the Fennec devs and provide a bit of insight to those that may not be familiar with the development cycle of a program, and friendly reminder to those that are ;)

well, thank you kindly for that info. im sure no1 took/takes it as a flame. this community understands the processes and such, we're just as anxious as every1 else to get to use this new browser on our phones.
