Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

I took the contents of the SYS_21874_XIP.rar, by opening it with WinRar.
I opened SYS_21882_XIP.rar, the same way. Deleted all.
Then side by side, I draged each folder into the now empty 21882 folder.
Closed all.
Refreshed the desktop. (If it makes a differense)?
Opened BuildOS, chose VZW, hit the build button.
And it proceded to cook the rom.
So now I will Re cook with my selections and see if I get a valid ROM.

It apears as tho the XIP.rar does have to have the 2 folders within them.
And those folders do need to contain some sort of .txt files.

EDIT:
Flashing now.
Also greatguy320, Did you:
Check all of the .txt files and make sure that at the end of the file,
The curser blinks at line below the last string.

The way you described what you did sounds like you could of just copied the SYS_21874_XIP.rar and pasted it, then renamed it SYS_21882_XIP.rar. Because you said you deleted everything from the 21882. So in that case it sounds like you are going to end up with a working 21882 ROM but its going to say 21874 for the XIP in start/settings/about..

Yes I know you need to add the .txt files. But the 21882 XIP will not be functioning. Unless of course you are using all of the 21874 files and modules then of course it will boot. But its not going to be a 21882 XIP.

And there is no need to check the .txt files for the blinking cursor because my 21874 XIP files are fine, and boot fine. And yes I tried using them with the incomplete RAW 21882 XIP files to no resolve. I already said that in my 5 or so recent posts..

Sorry for the late response, but had I no problem building with that XIP rar. But I am not saying I don't believe you guys, quite the contrary. :) Looks like we might have a bug somwhere along the lines. In the meantime, check the 21882 download link again. I put a new XIP rar up there using a XIP made by ppckitchen, then dumped and created in the other format. I am curious to know if this works. If it does, this would indeed confirm a bug. ;)

No.

I don't understand "shellres.mui". Do you mean shellres.dll or shellres.dll.409.mui?

I use the one (049.mui) from 21877---- it is also from PDAVIET!!!

Yup thats the one. Hex edit or delete that one, and the logo will go away.

Thank you for fixing that on Thanksgiving. The XIP builds so it works..

Now onto my problem. Ever since using the updater to update the BuildOS files and PPCkitchen files I can no longer build any roms. Its giving this new error no matter what build I try. I even tried restoring my old files using Power Data Recovery Pro to no resolve. I am so angry. Here are the errors. This happens right when its recmodding the files. And before I used the updater (yes I had version 1.0.0) it worked perfectly fine! I hope no one else experiences this problem because as of now its irrerversible.

Error! Cannot map C:\Documents and Settings\Normal\Application Data\hIq Inc\PPCk-BuildOS\1.0.0.0Temp\temp\dump\\imageinfo.bin

Error - C:\Documents and Settings\Normal\Application Data\hIq Inc\PPCk-BuildOS\1.0.0.0Temp\temp\dump\ - Recmod failed

And it halts the cooking process entirely. O man just when I get one thing fixed something else happens.

Edit: Still would like to figure out why me and Cac2us cannot use the RAW files to build an XIP.. Must be something with the Core files we use (I use Titan).

Someone has the 23511 xip or xip.bin or Msxipkernell?

greatguy320, I'm sure you have checked allready, but the BuildOS_config.txt and RecModCommonFiles.txt, need that curser flashing just below the S and the \, respectivly.

I use Norton Ghost 14. It does offsite backup and runs outside the OS.
Hope things work out for you.
