Nope we are experiencing test builds for future aku's beyond the release of wm6.5 which are still built on CEOS 5.2 which wm6.1 is built on too. WM7 will be based on CEOS 6 & will have entirely new compiled kernels (and are device specific) without which we may not be able to port the new OS to old devices. Kinda like how the HTC 6600 cannot be upgraded past wm2003se because we have no wm5+ kernel for it and the few people with the ability to compile the kernel outside of HTC like No2Chem have had no reason to do so.

No, these newer builds are 6.5.1. Windows 5.x, 6.1, 6.5 and 6.5.1 are based off of Windows CE 5.0 and use a kernel as such. Last I heard, Windows mobile 7 is going to be based off of Windows CE 6.0 and the devices will require an entirely different kernel as the changes between 5.0 and 6.0 are quite significant.

Edit: We musta cross posted, Drellisdee. Looks like we had pretty much the same response though :geek:

It will be interesting if WM 7 will run off our current devices. Makes me really think if I want upgrade to a TP2 (as WM7 is being delayed again) or just hold tight till WM7 devices are in the wind......

It would be nice to see some current screen shots of even an alpha of WM7 tho....

Where did you got the QVGA files? Are these tested? On the thread there is no posting for 0409 96 DPI files!
