Yeah, they have about 10,000+ videos right now but they are adding more and more everyday evidently.

I imagine in a couple of months it'll be most of their catalogue.

For everyone else, glad it's working! :thumbleft:

Ok, I tried this out and it seems to work fine. However, I think the install can be simplified and an OEM can be created. What is strange is that all the files in Step#1 should be getting overwritten by the cabs.

BTW, to test I did a hard reset and just installed cab#3 and it works fine. Can anyone else confirm this?

I originally just installed cab #3 that I saw posted in the Apache forum before this post was made. I haven't tried it the way Malatesta described but for me it appears to work and looks the same (clicking on a video on m.youtube.com launches the HTC Streaming App which streams the video). I guess I'll give the other method a shot just to confirm it's the same thing.

On a side note, there still doesn't appear to be a way to stream videos from the main youtube site, is there? I read a recent post that installing the Flash 7 player on the 6800 allows it to work, but I can't get it to work on my 6700. I am able to use the codecs and YouTubeDownload.exe to download and play videos in TCPMP so that's better than nothing, but streaming would be nice.

BTW, I found vixy.net. It lets you convert a youtube video to various formats and download them. This is great for favorite videos you want to have off hand. I found that Mp4 format works great with WMP. If someone wants to post a full thread on this, feel free.

It's a mixed bag.

It appears that devices < AKU 3.x/WM6 need some of those extra files. That is, just doing Steps 2 & 3 do not allow the program to work for me on the 700wx.

So some finesse needs to be done to make sure that certain devices get the necessary files while newer AKU devices just get the minimum.

It should be able to simplified though to a single .cab, I imagine.

Mal, thanks for your posting. In my mogul should I be able to watch youtube without installing any software? I get an error everytime I try.

I don't think so, even though it's Wm6. I think only some newer HTC devices do it 'out of the box', so I'd just go ahead and install all 3 files--nothing really to loose unless anyone with a Mogul could assist?

Works flawlessly on the Q. I installed step #2 on my storage card by accident, but it still works great! Thanks Mal!!
