HTC Footprints?
 

Stumbled across this on engadget today - http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/0...ts-geotagging/

Anybody know if this will ever be extracted and ready for universal use? It'd be awesome if it worked with the 7MP panoramic shots too!

that phone looks sweet to bad it's qvga. Well this is just the beginning of there new line so it's looks good. I got my touch pro about 2 weeks after it came out and i already can't wait to see what else is coming out this year

To the OP I was just reading the same thing. I do a lot of traveling and that htc footprints would come in handy. Be nice if they release a cab for it to be used in our touch pro tf3d tabs. But seriously sprint you see this include this in the next rom release. No if's and's or but's :-|

I think it will be included in future ROM updates from HTC... Makes sense anyways...

Yea it makes "sense" but you never know. But I really would love to see this on the next rom update from sprint.

If not, somebody here or at XDA will get a .CAB of it and convert it to VGA

Sweeeeeeet. I love how it automagically did some sort of google maps mashup thing too! This MUST be on my phone NOW! I mean, I pretty much already do this without footprints. Most of the pics on my phone are simply pics of places I've been, done, etc.

tested and verified working on my vogue device... I must say, footprints is a nice replacement over locr app I was using. :mrgreen:

Neato.... I already use the Touch Pro Geo-Tagging and manually add notes....... this will make it easier.

KDKobes on XDA- Developers gets all the credits for this. He has succeeded in creating a CAB file for HTC Footprints. Here is the the link.

So far the GPS works fine with TomTom only, he is still working on resolving the other 2 problems as you will see.

The Guys at Xda are really making some quick progress. alread XboxMod has made a Touch Flo 3d plugin for it, and just looking for help to create a menu for the application. I am thinking with those 3 guys working together, we might see a finished version by the end of the week

Incorrect, it's working on my Sprint Touch Pro with GC's awesome 2.1.4 ROM. I still get the bugs that are listed, i.e. the pics are off-center, but otherwise it's pretty smooth in my limited testing. Neat app.

Ok, It's looking like it's spotty on what it will work on at this time. Some CDMA/GSM phones it works, others it doesn't. At this time, if you see someone running the same ROM who had success, then you should beable to run it as well. :)
