Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. For example, couldn't this be used for call screening as a visual voicemail alternative?

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Testing on my Touch Pro now

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
From what I'm reading at xda (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457808) there have been mixed results with the diamond and touch pro. Apparently you need to make sure to get the right language installed or something like that since the original was written in chinese. Looking into it a bit further...

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Looks like Diamond and Touch Pro users havent had any luck, including myself.
I can install the program but it doesnt create the record call option. You can install the touch HD dialer and that will give you the option, but the record call option still appears to be dysfunctional. |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I've had no luck, tried it on my 6900 & Diamond & Pro, It doesnt create the record call option ...
Thanks T M Z |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I tried it on a Mogul and had no luck.

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Tried to get it working on my mogul last night with no sucess :( I'm gonna try to stay positive that someone will figure it out. Sounds like they're headed in the right direction at least.

Alright, I think I've made some progress on this (I've also posted in the xda thread)... anyways, here's what I did to get where I am:
- installed the xda ICR cab (from post 91 of that thread) -- attached - extracted/copied the voAMRNBEnc codec file (from post 96 of that thread) into \Windows -- attached - soft reset - installed the XDA Diamond Dialer 2.03 version found here -- attached - soft reset After all that, I can get the ICR settings program to pop up correctly (missing the EXIT button on the left softkey, but OK works just fine for that)... and, once a call is connected, I can go to the menu and hit "Start recording"... and it DOES start recording... and the recording DOES show up in the ICR program for playback... The only issue is that the volume on the other end of the call is so low, I'm not really sure these files are accomplishing anything (i.e. maybe it's just picking up some of the sound from the earpiece).. I'm playing around with some reg stuff that stef142 on XDA suggested (increasing value in HKLM/Software/HTC/ICR/RecGain), but I haven't had much luck so far. P.S. As for the dialer, I've been unable to find much info about it with a quick search... I can confirm being able to make/receive calls, and all normal functions seem OK so far, but it looks like the ## codes are gone (i.e. GSM files).. not sure about the data arrows yet... they're active on my phone, but I was able to receive a call and saw the phone switch to 1X as expected. YMMV. Hope this helps, please play around and let me know if anyone has different results! |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
i'd like to see where this goes... but for the time being, if i've needed to record a call i've just turned the earpiece vol all the way up and used the voice recorder... works amazingly well even when it 'sounds' low to the natural ear, when i play back it picks up the whole convo!

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
1st, record both end clearly != record both end, or say record both end by turnning speak on. If you can record both end clearly but needs to turn the speak on, problem NOT solved!
2nd, from what I saw here and xda development, this is to accomplish with some kind of ROM update on Touch HD, not the software. I remember someone on xda claim that his/her Resco Record worked as well as the ICR after update a ROM, so it should be software dependent. 3rd, no one make it to work on Diamond or Pro, yet. The only thing worked is the interface, not the real functionality we want. I'm not that optimistic with this unless HTC do something in their ROM. 4th, I copy this from VITO website: Quote:

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Guys,
This software does work on the HTC TOUCH PRO. You have to install the ICS software. That's the software which records and let you play back the recordings AND you need to install the TOUCH HD Dialer. The stock dialer on the PRO doesn't yield the "Start Recording" option. The software does work. The only problem I have it that the person on the remote end doesn't come out as clear as yourself. I'm still hoping someone can fix this. |

will this work on the touch/qvga???????? i dont get the recording option....anyone know of a dialer that would work? you may want to try this reg hack for the volume issue.... HKLM/Software/HTC/ICR/REC GAIN that is set to the value 30. If you increase it at 40-50 or more the volume of recording gets better... |

And I do NOT believe this works on the touch pro. Yes, you can get the ICR app working.. and yes, you can record things while in-call from the "Start Recording" option... but the caller's voice is so quiet that it's probably only the mic picking up sound from the earpiece........ and the reg hack didn't really help. |

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
It doesnt work. The levels that it records on the distant end is the same level that I get with Resco Audio Record without the ICR app installed.
So in other words, I've had Resco Recorder installed for a long time, I've attempted to record calls but only picked up low volume and faint sounds from the far end.... bleed over from the ear piece. I installed the ICR app, HD dialer, MUI file and there was no change. I have no doubt someone with enough time and determination can get it to work, but sorry its just not working now. |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
[quote=auto_exec;645643]I'm pretty sure I posted all of this info (including a dialer you can install) just a few posts back...
i asked if there was a qvga dialer that i can install so i can get the recording option on my touch... the dialer you posted which was originally from xda is for vga. it wont install. so if someone knows of one make some noise thanks |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
what about the voice mail option to click on individual recording rather than go through the each voicemail? does that option work when you install ?
|
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I installed the ICR 51spssoft.com.cab to my Verizon VX6900 and when i click on the program icon it reads " ICR is not a valid Pocket PC application, i then tried to save the mui file to my windows folder on the phone and it didnt help. any suggestions? i really just want to check my voicemail individually rather than go through each voicemail to just check one. just like the iphone has done. if there is a more stable program i would download that too. please advise

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
The cab in this post seems to be working on my sprint touch pro with stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7&postcount=29 Tried it with voicemail, then tried the same call with my fingers covering the mic and it seemed to record the other side without much of an issue. I still have not tested it much so YMMV |

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I got it working last night on my sprint touch pro stock rom 103.651.4 but the sound quality isnt very good for me. Vito audio notes 1.03 on the other hand, has been awesome. Loud and clear conversations even in a noisy environments, and it auto records. Just my 2ยข.

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I installed the icr and diamond dialer program on my stock touch pro and also installed the audiopara3 audio fix and the program works fine for me. I got the audiopara3 zip from ppcgeeks site but I cant remember exactly which post so you'll have to do a search for it. Good luck and let me know if it works for you.
Also, I didn't install the voAMRNBEnc.zip edit: Just found out that when your recording and using a bluetooth or wired headset you can't hear the other party during playback but you can when you don't use a headset while recording. I tested it a few times to be sure that was the issue and had the same results every time. If anyone can address this issue that would be great |

How did u define "works fine" in ur post? Did u get both side the SAME volume level when recording? |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Though I haven't actually tried it, I thought this was already available by going to notes during your call, activating the sound recorder toolbar and going on...?

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
Greetings. I thought vito audio notes was working well in conjunction with ICR, but i was wrong. Anyhow, the cab posted in this thread does work with sprint stock rom. Also my sound quality improved with a registry hack of HKLM/software/htc/icr/recgain -30 I switched the value to 35 and for me, the other callers voice is much better now.

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone

I skipped a couple pages so I don't know if this has been answered; Any chance for this working for the vogue?

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I just installed the recorder but I noticed that the graphics are off. Is there a version for QVGA display ?

Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
In call recording works great on my Wife's Diamond with the Groove rom.
How do I get it working on my Touch Pro now? Last attempt it didn't record anything and I didnt have the record option while I was in a call. |
Re: In Call Recording finally comes to a HTC smartphone
I just installed the IRC cab file an I have the Stock TP Rom and it works great. Voice is decent level too.
