psshutxp- VGA/Diamond/Pro Version here

2 Attachment(s)
I couldn't find this when I first got my Diamond last week, and it's an app that I really liked so I thought I'd post the cab here in VGA format for other new Diamond users.

You can download other VGA skins for the app here: http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/

fyi: for those that aren't familiar, this app is a reset/powerdown app.

Mods feel free to remove if this is already linked elsewhere. Thanks

EDIT: Briggs found a newer version over at XDA. Everything works now as it should. Soft reset/Power Down/Screen OFF, and Hard Reset all work in this version. The newer version is the second cab posted. I left them both up in case someone still wants the older version. Have fun!

does the turn off function work for you?

I've noticed that it doesn't shut down but it just turns of the display, the same as the display off button

Yes. I mainly use it to soft reset the device (as opposed to taking off the back cover and manually hitting the reset button). It saves you a lot of time. The shut down feature never worked in any of the HTC models that I've tried it in. All it does, as you said, is turns the screen off.

This is a nice application. Also wanted to share that both adv config and diamond tweak also have built in soft reset option in case people didn't know. Thanks!

Yes, those are good as well. Only big difference as that this is made just for that. Simply place in start menu, program shortcut, or even map elsewhere, and all it requires is two taps (its really quick, usually a 1.5 sec to go into soft reset). I think this is better for those who soft reset often (like myself). ](*,)

Just curious, what happens if your diamond locks up? Dont see you being able to get to that app to even use it. Back to removing the cover anyway.

Are you serious? The app obviously won't be used under that circumstance.

Being a PPCGEEK, you are always doing regedits, wanting to free up leaked memory, and soft resetting is something that is done often. This makes it a hella lot easier and quicker.

No. This is a soft reset application. Nothing to do with TomTom.

Yup, just copy all the gifs to the psshutxp directory, and then soft reset.

Re: psshutxp- VGA/Diamond/Pro Version here

Hmn. The image files must be small.

It's alot smaller than the default look.

Default pop up was wide as the screen of Touch PRO, now, it's about 1/3 of it.

stevedog1 12-24-2008 04:01 PM

Re: psshutxp- VGA/Diamond/Pro Version here

I just did it to mine, same directions as I gave you, and it stretches across the entire middle of the screen

Edit: I just checked the files from that web site and those aren't VGA files, they are qvga (thats why they look so small when you installed). I'll have to take that link down, and search for VGA skins.

Edit: The original link I posted is the correct one for the VGA Skins as they are the Developers. It seems that the site is just down at the moment. Perhaps it will be back up at a later time.

Re: psshutxp- VGA/Diamond/Pro Version here

I'd create a shortcut to psshutxp, and rename it Long_Power. If you place that shortcut in the /Windows directory, psshutxp will be opened everytime you hold the main powerbutton for 2-3 seconds so you can soft reset your TP by using one hardware key + quick tap on the screen.

I hate having the poke the reset button lol

Bah. I see. Back to googling then lol.

No need to get touchy. Just seem to see what the problem is with waiting a few seconds holding the power button in to reset. But oh well.

Nice find.

but,

If you have to wait 2-3 seconds and still tap the screen. Would'nt it be faster just to do it the regular way? For example, the psshutxp shortcut is on my home screen. Tap it twice. Done.

Re: psshutxp- VGA/Diamond/Pro Version here

There are too frequent moments when those few seconds becomes a hassle in our lives, and perhaps that's why someone came up with the software/program.

I personally love it, and it's one of the most programs I use on my Touch Pro. Anyways, nuff about the off topic.

I assume that would be pretty nice but I use TF3D and would put it in my app tab. All work ok and I would probably definately use if i was just using the today screen where it was a tap away.

Didnt mean to come across as touchy. So I apologize.

Its a lot longer process than that.

You need to remove your back cover, take out your stylus, look for the hole, depress it, put cover back on, and then put stylus back in slot.

It's just easier to tap a button on your screen and be done with it

You can place it in your start menu as well.....just a thought.

I just tried to put the couple of pic files, not exec one to the program folder, and does not work at all.

Darn it though. It is a nice skin for it.

Please, don't apologize, this isn't a private chat lol. I tend to use the start menu quite often since its shows your most recent used apps, and makes it easier to launch them.

Just tried to use the hard reset option in psshutxp on my diamond.

Doesn't work at all leaves everything pretty much as is. Just an FYI

There's no hard reset option, maybe thats why.

Edit: Yes there it. My bad.

Edit 2: I'll take your word for it! Don't want to erase everything to test it :)

Edit 3: All these Edits make me sound like an idiot! lol

Yes. Thats why I wrote, "Edit:".

I thought he was referring to the shut down option.

I was wrong.

He was referring to the Power icon in the top right corner. I personally have never used it, as I only use this program to soft reset and nothing more.

Nevertheless it was a good observation, one that I wouldn't dare try to prove or disprove. My phone is finally the way I like it :)
