Re: How to get ARCSOFT MMS to work perfectly on Sprint (Mogul) as of 12-12-08
Works great on my Mogul. I'm running DCD's 3.2.5 ROM and I havent had any problems so far. I'm sure glad this is working. That Sprint memory error made the official Sprint program useless.

Re: How to get ARCSOFT MMS to work perfectly on Sprint (Mogul) as of 12-12-08
its sprint's fault, tehy dont use traditional MMS.
Essentially this is how i understand it works: 1. person sends pic 2. pic goes to your picmail account on a server 3. sprint's picmail app or sMMS log into your picmail box on the server and get the pic 4. pic is displayed Traditional MMS on other carriers: 1. pic is sent 2. received on phone, no picmail account in between. there is NO way to receive a pic in your arcsoft inbox, the message will say its there but there will be some text and message details. Arcsoft cannot log into your picmail account on the server to get the image. its simply not possible no matter how much a person or 2 claims theirs works, they obviously arent understanding that the pic is not in their arcsoft inbox, maybe just the message saying its there and some text but no image. Its simply against how Sprint's system is set up vs traditional MMS systems other carriers use for picturemail. You MUST have sprint's app or sMMS installed to receive the pic directly to the phone (not an sms link) Last edited by SprintTouch08; 12-13-2008 at 04:36 PM. |

I just tested it. Sent and received picture mail. Incoming message popped up in my text message box with the link to retrieve the pic. Opened fine. Good times.

try logging into your picmail account and send yourself a pic from there and tell me if it opens. Thats how i tested it and no pic image comes through despite there being a new message in the inbox. Last edited by SprintTouch08; 12-13-2008 at 04:57 PM. |

I confirm Arcsoft wont receive the pic in the Arcsoft MMS inbox. All of my incoming picture mails come in as a text with the link to open it. Im not worried about this aspect so much as beig able to send a picture mail with Arcsoft. That damn POS Sprint program memory error was driving me bananas! I have since removed the Sprint MMS. On a side note; Ive tried sMMS but just really liked Arcsoft from back when it used to work. |

I would love to test that for you but...... I just hard reset to my last backup. Because that empty account was bugging me. I'm OCD like that. Also the one issue about Arcsoft that I absolutely hated when I used it on my vogue , is that every now and then it makes your messaging buttons on your homescreen not work until a soft reset. For example the envelope buttons and the "+compose" in T3D stop working and on the normal today screen after you compose a mms or get one. I don't think anyone tried resolving this issue because it stopped working. Now this is back in full effect and it sucks. Mess around you'll notice it soon enough.. |

Re: How to get ARCSOFT MMS to work perfectly on Sprint (Mogul) as of 12-12-08
ok well thats what i was saying without sMMS or the Sprint app theres no way to receive pics. If you have a Diamond or Pro on your account they arent coming through as texts even because its likely they know you have the Sprint app.
Thats how im wondering how people with Diamond/Pros are receving picmail supposedly in the arcsoft inbox when arcsoft cant capture an image off Sprint's servers Last edited by SprintTouch08; 12-13-2008 at 05:25 PM. |
