Re: Dashwire? Who uses it?

What a find! I tried it out a few hours ago, and it's great! It's like a ppc version of Carbonite backup!

Re: Dashwire? Who uses it?

I use it maybe once a week and it helps me keep up to date. When I switched over to my TP before I left the Sprint Store my new phone was completly in the same state as my mogul was including text messages and all. The Sprint salesperson face was priceless as he saw my new phone totally backed up. Great App

Re: Dashwire? Who uses it?

Fantastic app!!! I use it for testing at work, and showing off pictures (100% easier than showing them on the device itself). I have found leaving it on auto update will drain the battery of my 700wx pretty fast, so I leave it on manual unless I am texting a lot at work. I find the contact update to be very useful if you need to access the information for purposesother than calling them on the device itself (filling out forms, mail, calling from work....).

At this point, there are two things that would put this app into my 'must have' and 'use EVERY day' category:

- better battery usage....as I mentioned, I can run through a battery pretty fast. If I am going to work, and KNOW I am not doing anything after, I can leave it on auto and lose about 5% per hour just sitting idle. Better batter usage would have me keep this on auto 24/7 as opposed to updating occasionally and using it on auto for high text days at work.

- They have more work to do on the contact sync. I use S2U2 with full-screen caller ID, and for the contact pics, you need to assign using S2V or the images get re-scaled resulting in fuzzy contact images. Whenever DashWire syncs contacts, all the images get reverted back to WM re-scaled and I need to use S2V to reassign them all AGAIN!!!

*Sorry....kinda got carried away there LOL!!!
