Gotta get my vote in for TouchPal. I know there is a split decision on it with thos that love it and those that hate it, but it was the first thing I installed on my Touch.

I agree, I use that also.

I seem to have better/faster luck with the Touch Diamond KB for T9, but it's probably just because I am more practiced with it.

Hey all,

I have been trying out TekSoft and Touchpal - however, 1 minute with Gullum's creation, and I AM SOLD! It's by far the most intuitive and speedy input I have used.

However, I have noticed that 'regular' word prediction no longer shows up - is that one side effect of this apps?

Excited,

Matt!

John,

Have you noticed that the 'stock' text prediction is disabled when using the physical QWERTY keyboard after installing Gullums? I wish it was still there, but Gullums app is too nice to get rid of!

Thanks,

Matt!

Yea, I noticed that too but I like the gullum so much I hardly ever use the hardware KB anymore :-)

Hey all,

For those of us who installed (and possibly uninstalled) Gullum's Keyboard, and miss the stock auto-complete feature that was, in turn, disabled - here are a few simple, quick steps that just worked 100% for me:

Be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0 - if not, change it.

Change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409
  • Value of Ime File from \windows\xt9ime.dllto \windows\compime.dll
  • Value of Layout Text from XT9 IME to COMP IME
That's it!

Later,

Matt!

Re: Keyboards

Not sure how many people know about it (cause I seemed to have missed it after a year of surfing these forums), but here's how you can undock any softkeyboard: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49601

Definitely makes it easier to enter info on certain sites now that I can simply move the keyboard out of the way or where I want on the screen! It snaps into default position when you close/reopen.
