SlingMobile (this is kinda funny)

I use SM on my Verizon XV6800 running from a Slingbox Pro with the HD dongle all running from a high def Time Warner cable box.

I switch back & forth between both the high def feed & the built in analog tuner of the Slingbox. When I use the analog feed, I can watch a different channel than the one the home TV is set to.

Things where a little slow at work the other day, & I was sitting in my office watching an HBO On Demand movie on my phone using my S9 stereo BT headset. My boss (who is a really cool guy) walked in behind me but I was absorbed in the movie & didn't even realize he was there.

When I realized he was there I jumped (it scared the poo out of me) & I wasn't sure if he would care that I was watching TV on company time (even though all my work was caught up). He finally asked what I was watching & I told him. His reaction was NFW, how the heck are you doing that??

When I explained that I got all 200 cable channels that way (including all the on-demand channels) he was dumbfounded. He asked what the monthly fee was & I told him no fee at all over & above what you already pay for cable, you just have a one time hardware cost & need a router if you don't already own one.

At that point, he said "I have to have that, can you hook me up with it??"

I told him "sure, that's no problem". At that point, he handed me his Gold Amex card & the key to his house & told me "go buy the stuff & then go over & let yourself in & hook up whatever's needed there"

I did all that, cam back to work & installed SM in his WM phone & the guy's in heaven right now!!

That is amazing. It is truly a blessing when you have a cool boss like that. especially one that loves technology. Wait to he finds out you can put Google maps with a street view on a mobile phone . It will blow his mind.

Very cool With a doubt (my opinion) slingbox is the most kick-*ss application for our pocket pc's. Truly amazing technology for entertainment. Can't wait to see how nice it looks on the touch pro. dschoenike

I agree 100%. I rarely have time to watch TV at home, but it's totally awesome to be able to do it from almost anywhere with the phone.

I have tried all the different ways that exist to enable TV viewing from a phone (I used ORB for a while & tried different pay services)) & IMHO the Sling setup is the best BY FAR.

The Sling image is VERY VERY good & if it is setup correctly it is virtually 100% dependable. I never get freeze-ups/pauses/lost connection etc etc etc ever with SB, that was a constant nagging problem with every other solution for me anyway.

Some young kid I work with has the verizon pay TV service & it stinks. Not only does it only get about 8 channels, it pauses & freezes up constantly.....

Re: SlingMobile (this is kinda funny)

Yeah, so true. I tried alot of the other mobile t.v software available, and for me, nothing can compare to slingbox. I've been so spoiled by the quality of their services, i find all other alternatives almost unwatchable. I've become a slingbox snob

What are some of the settings to change to make it more reliable? I have it stock and it's OK at best.

Re: SlingMobile (this is kinda funny)

Thats awesome !!! to have a cool boss!!

I have one of each A Slingbox AV, A Locationfree LF-B20, and as of my birthday lastnight a HAVA Platinum.. I Like diff reatures of all of them But so far the HAVA gets the best picture for me.

Well compaired to the Sling ,I cant compare to the Locationfree on my phone because i lost the software (and now you cant buy it anymore)
But the HAVA has a much better picture on it and it work great with the remote . Its grreat not to miss any games tho no matter where you are

Re: SlingMobile (this is kinda funny)

I'm the hit at the Michigan games in our section. When anything happens, I'm always recording the game, so I just pull the Mogul out of my pocket, and show everyone the replay... before they even put it on the big screen. Plus... I can watch other games as they're going on. It's great!

Re: SlingMobile (this is kinda funny)

I am a Buffalo Bills fan & my son plays D3 football for St. Lawrence.

The kid was playing last Sunday & while we where watching the game I had a whole crowd around me in the stands watching the Bills down Jacksonville on the SM setup.
