All A_C development suspended :(

Well it only takes a few idiots to jack it up for everyone. Some of you might know that XDA Developer's member A_C has suspended his development of S2U2 S2V and S2P. He's been dealing with too many idiots selling his software. I urge all of you to stay away from http://www.iphonethemeforpocketpc.com (formerly http://www.myiphonetheme.com) and http://www.iphonethemeforppc.com As they are selling his app with their iPhone skins. Also http://www.web-resort.com it looks like is selling iFonz. DITCH ALL THESE GUYS!

As you all know, all S2 applications are freeware. That is, they cannot be sold for any purpose and it's stated clearly in the attached license file.

However, it's found some guys do repeatly sell them through eBay or their own websites. For eBay, I have to submit an individual email to eBay when a suspicious listing is found. That's really time-wasting.

Recently, I came across this website: www.iphonethemeforppc.com. I asked the website owner to remove S2U2, but he simply declined.

I'm totally sick of them.

So, I'll suspend the development of any S2 applications until there is any good sign of changes.

I hate people that ruin the fun for everyone... Its one thing to charge to do something risky like flashing a ROM, but this? Its even MORE despicable.

Seems like he ran into this problem before. Someone was gonna go after him for not making his code public or something like that....IDK. Either way it's one of the perils of putting your product out there and the internet is a risky place at best filled with predators looking for anything cheap and easy.

Does anyone know if he has a GNU GPL license on his software? He should add it to everything NOW and send cease and decist letters to all of the violators - after the license is added they would be in violation of copyright law.

Maybe he could also add something like this to all of his threads:

You may NOT link to this post or download for any commercial interest. Unless the program is described and labled as freeware on the site in which it is linked from, you may NOT provide the means for obtaining this software.

I really hope he can get rid of the violators and start working on it again. His are some of the best pocket pc apps around...
