I am assuming the text messages are not threaded... Given the link to Vito Threaded SMS...

Re: Introducing Power SMS-Beta testers needed

From what I read it doesn't replace any threaded sms program...it merely interfaces with it.

This from FAQ section at Trinketsoftware:

Does PowerSMS replace the built-in Messaging application?

No, PowerSMS does not replace anything. It works with your existing messages and folders. The automated messages sent by PowerSMS will also show up in your "Sent Items" folder, so you can treat them just like any other SMS.

My pleasure.

Ok, install went fine but after I entered my phone number in the "Note to Self" option my phone froze up.

After my phone reboots I'll try to play around with it some more.

late,
Coz

EDIT: Everything seems to be working fine right now.

Worked fine for me...

It added the message to my text message list... Anyway to get it to show up as an unread message without having to do that manually?

Edit: took it about 30 seconds and then it resent it to my phone as an unread message... Replacing the original read message file...

It does not replace your current messaging application. It's basically a stand alone application that allows you to do use your current messaging application in different ways.

Just it out for yourself...

Well, I tried it and it seems okay so far. I used it in advance to send a Happy Birthday SMS to one of my friends. It worked. I haven't tried the 'send a note to self' feature. I'm still laughing at Coz saying it took 5 hours.

Everything seems to work as advertised. I only wish I didn't have to add myself as a contact to setup a scheduled text.

Everything has been working great!

Suggestion: Maybe have an include/exclude list of contacts for the Auto Reply. I love the Auto Reply feature, but hate that it txts my ex when the ***** calls and I ignore her call.

Can you remove her from your Contacts so that she becomes an unkown caller? That way it won't send her a text as she is no longer a "known contact".

Coz

Re: Introducing Power SMS-Beta testers needed

That would work. Just thought it might be nice to assign specific contacts to reply to or exclude. For example, if I wanted to only auto reply to my parents and maybe my brother.

Re: Introducing Power SMS-Beta testers needed

Good Evening to all,
I have been using this application for over a week. I have had little problems with the app. A few times "Auto - Reply" SMS were either not received or received more than once. Something that has happen before the use of Power SMS. I did also get a claim to not receive a "Schedule SMS". Not enough to be alarmed. I really like this application, I find it quite useful. I do have one MAJOR complaint though, I am unable to successfully use "Group SMS", or maybe I'm utilizing it wrong. From the name and description, I thought all contacts placed in a specific group, would receive the same text when that group was selected. Unfortunately, whatever group I select, the last contact is the only contact listed to receive the text. Has anyone experienced the same? Or has had success?

Does anyone get an error from the app on boot? (whatever it does on phone boot, i get an error that it crashed every time, so i deleted the shortcut in the startup folder)

No, not I.

My beta test software expired today and I was directed to the website to purchase the software for $9.95.

Although it is a good program...Never gave me any issues.. I am not sure that I will purchase it for $9.95. I am going to leave the expired one on my touch for now and will wait to make my final decision on this one.

I have no problem paying for good software.

I've been trying this out for about a week. Really like it. It is a potentially very useful application. Especially interested in the "Group SMS" feature. Share DaRedLight's concern that not everyone in the group maybe recieving the message. I'm going to try to organise a few tests in my work place.

Re: Introducing Power SMS-Beta testers needed

I really like this software, particularly the group feature, scheduled texting, and being a statistics junky i enjoy the cool stats--I most likely will buy a license in the end.

My suggestion for a new feature, which is mostly just my wish to have the ultimate SMS control, would be something that could synch the SMS back to the pc, either as say entries in outlook, or maybe just something on the pc that could read the SMS backup files powerSMS makes. There are other programs that do this more or less, but for me it'd be great to see it in this software for a all in one kinda solution. Keep up the good work!

Ok, did the tests on the 'Group Message' feature and no apparent problems. Really like this particular function. Intend to purchase this software and would do so for this feature alone.

So you were able to send a single text, that was received by all members in your particular group? If so could you be specific on what you did, so I may learn.

My "beta" version expired. Now it looks like their page lists it as paid software. Darn, it was pretty neat to play around with, but not something I would have the need to purchase.

Re: Introducing Power SMS-Beta testers needed

DaRedLight, I simply selected the "Group Message" option, created a new group entitled "Work" and selected my work colleagues from my contacts list. When the list was complete I entered "Done". Then I hit on the "Work" group to be allowed to enter a text to the entire group. I asked them all to respond to ensure they did indeed receive the text and they all did. Tried it several times to different groups. All messages were recieved. The built in app only allows me to text six numbers at one time and they all have to be entered individually every time. This saves so much time and effort. I trust this is a satisfactory answer. If not, I'll be happy to try again.

I figured out what the issue was...I was using Cody PPC Threaded SMS, somehow I was being prevented from Grouping my SMS whenever I initiated it. After uninstalling it, and using the built in Threaded SMS through the stock 6.1 ROM, everything works fine. Unfortunately, I don't like the stock Threaded SMS, I lose some key features as well as asthetics!

I agree.

That is why I still use Vito SMS-Chat even though I'm running WM 6.1.
