OpenSSH as Proxy Connection
I'm using ICS on my Sprint Touch. I want to run a proxy on my phone so I can setup firefox to use my ICS connection instead of my LAN connection. So I found this:
http://lifehacker.com/software/featu...top-327066.php Now this is for the iPhone, but seems to be that you should be able to do the same on WM. You can set up OpenSSH server on the Windows Mobile device, open a connection using a client like putty, setup a proxy in firefox to localhost:9999 and you are good to go (all the while being encrypted as a bonus). Here's where OpenSSH for CE/WM can be downloaded: http://www.codeplex.com/wiki/view.as...jectname=CESSH But this is site is pretty terse in terms of how to get things running. I can't get the SSH server to run on my Touch. Anyone else had any success with OpenSSH? Anyone else interested in trying this out as well? |
Re: OpenSSH as Proxy Connection
I'm also looking for a software solution.
While I'm at work I need to disable all network connections to be able to use my mobile to surf the "blocked" sites. It would be great to only have to change the Proxy in the browser, I could even have a dedicated browser for this... -=edit=- I've been playing around with your suggestion, but indeed it doesn't seem to work on my diamond. I think to get it to work you need to get the source and compile it (think i read that somewhere) unfortunately i couldn't find any other SSH servers for the PPC |

Another solution we tried, that didn't work:
