Re: Native Facebook Client for Windows Mobile

I just use http://m.facebook.com, and that's sufficient for me.

Skyhook007:

Let me just list a few shortcomings of the mobile portal:
  • You cannot upload photos from the mobile portal of facebook.
  • You cannot view your photos in slide show with mobile portal
  • You cannot import friends' profile photos to use as photo caller-id with the mobile portal
  • You cannot check your inbox/wall/friendship requests automatically
I can go on, but I think you get the idea. Yes, you CAN stay with the mobile portal, but why? - Snap2Face is FREE and works much better.

We have fixed quite a few exceptions in the beta version. The current release (1.0) should be pretty stable. If you have not tried it recently, please give it another try.

Actually, let's be fair. Eeverything you listed except the auto slideshow can be done through the facebook portal. Your app is good but please lets keep the facts straight.

How do you upload photos through http://m.facebook.com? And how do you check your inbox/wall etc at user-defined intervals though it?

You may be referring to uploading photos using MMS, or getting messages through SMS. But these are not through the mobile portal. They are a pain to use, and messages are often cut-off in the middle because they don't fit in SMS. Not to mention that even this limited functionality is not available to a large number of users (T-Mobile and Alltel in the US, for example).

I tried it, and actually think it is not bad.

My main complaint is that I cannot scroll the friends' list with my finger. Had to use the scroll bar. Any plan to introduce support for finger gestures?
