Phone Doesnt Stop Vibrate/ring Until Ringtones Finished

i have the htc touch and was wondering if anyone knew of something i can download to solve my BIG problem which is.. when i set a ringtone for incoming txt msgs, my phone doesnt stop vibrating and ringing until the ringtones finished.. i want it to stop vibrating and ringing when i touch the screen or check my msg.. for example i had a flip phone and wen i received a txt, my phone stoped vibrating and ringing wen i flipped it open.. can anyone PLEASE help?? id really really REALLY appreciate it!! thx!! -angela

now to your question i have been searching for this since i got my ppc a year ago and have come up with nothing this maybe and unifixble ppc problem we have encountered unless someone here wants to prove me wrong.

Nope same for me too. No answer ever found. Use a shorter ringtone. There really should be an option to silence the phone without soft resetting it lol. I've had to do that to get it to shut up in the middle of church. Blasting Jimmy Eat World in the middle of church is bad FYI...

there is on mine ... that it will not make any sound or vibrate

this is how all WM phones work as far as i know. When I worked for Sprint people came in everyday with their ppc and treos asking if there is a way to fix it but never was able to find anything. Like Nagrom said the only fix is a shorter ringtone. Search the web for a program like Audacity and you can create your own ringtone...I make mine about 1-2 seconds long which I think is a great length.

i actaully use a program called photo contact pro and it actually lets u stop the ringtone from playing and it also gives u more options as far as ringtones like sms individual tones seperate from your incoming tones i use it on my mogul and my girlfriends touch it's not freeware but i'll hook you up if you pm me.

Congrats on finding the only known solution to this issue...looks like it does more than just allow for ringtones to stop instead of playing full length. Personally I don't think its worth $30 just to get ringtones to stop though.

there is a regedit for this, (kinda) at least to change the way vibrate works... I'm on my way out the door and no time to look for it. so sorry I'm not posting it..
