Re: Kinoma media player

The accelerometer use in the latest Kinoma update is excellent. The screen rotation is incredibly fast and the transition animations are very nice. I'm using it with a HTC Touch Pro and Kinoma is more finger friendly than any program I've used so far for Windows Mobile.

I wish other Windows Mobile devs would use this code for their programs. Opera Mobile for example is incredibly slow and has no animation when rotating the screen.

I like kinoma freeplay enough that if they come out with a holiday sale, I shall buy it.

OK I bought kinoma player (with trial pay), but I dont see any screen rotation at all with the accelorometer. Are you sure you are not talking S2P? In any case, I am going to have my hands full attempting to cancel realplayer superpass.

OK... I don't have the patience to scan through 14 pages... (I got through about 4). But what am I missing? What's wrong with Kinoma FreePlay? I downloaded it, and it does exactly what I want it to do. Play my audio, play my ORB, and play my shoutcast. What more could you ask for, and it's free? Is there a limited time it's free? Because I am happy and content with this... not sure why anyone would pay $30 for the other one... just use the Kinoma FreePlay... as the name suggests... "Free"!

No, there is no time bomb to kill it after a while... It's a good free program.. This is what you get with getting the full version over the pay version...

Basically, you get-

1) More searches (not limited to 10 in YouTube)
2) Works with iTunes (playlists and music)
3) 1000's of Internet Radio stations
4) Streaming from URL's
5) Unlimited playlists, favorites, and history
6) Free support
7) Streaming ORB from PC (play, download and send photos, video, music to and from PC)
 Upload to Flickr
9) Upload to YouTube
10) Play AVC/ H.264 video
11) Play WMV
12) Skins, slideshow transitions, and FLAC audio support

This link lists all the additional stuff you get with the paid version in detail... Be warned... You will have to exit out of it automatically downloading the freeplayer version... I don't have any other links... Sorry...

http://kinoma.com/freeplay/download/

I don't have the paid version... I am happy with the Free version...

Kinoma is great and I would like to have a feature request. You should have a setting that allows the user to select file associations. I would rather have my HTC Album be the default picture viewer. Kinoma takes over that file association when it is installed.

Thanks

I don't have S2P. I've noticed that the screen rotation does not activate in Kinoma on my Touch Pro until I've used another program that uses the accelerometer like Sprint TV.

Once it starts the screen rotation on Kinoma is far better than any app I've ever used on my Touch Pro. Not sure if this is a bug in Kinoma or on the Touch Pro.

I'd like to be able to map the buttons. It would be nice to have a fast forward/rewind instead of previous/next.

I'd love to see the ability to choose your network speed. It often chooses a speed that is much to large for driving down the road without skipping.
