Looking for a OBD II software solution

With gas prices many people have bought a product called Scangage II and found success monitoring their MPG... http://www.scangauge.com/

I would like to have a product like this that I can use with my 700Wx and have found that there are a few options available...Here are a couple.....

http://www.qcontinuum.org/obdgauge/

Has anyone tried anything like this? The site has a freeware program but I will need to purchase a plug for the car that is either wired or bluetooth. Interested in a DIY or review of a successful solution.

either way you're going to need a wired OBDII adapter or wireless one to plug into the OBDII plug on your car (underneath the dash on the drivers side).. sorry there's no DIY fix here

Back in the Handspring Palm days they use to have a cable that plugged into the ODB2 conn I was pissed cause I drove a 85 VW OBD1. Search some more you'll find it.

Re: Looking for a OBD II software solution

this would be great. i've got an obd I f-body and i hate lugging my laptop in the car to do any kind of data logging. thirdgen.org has instructions on how to make your own cable to connect to a laptop. im sure it wouldnt be hard to change it a little to connect via mini usb.

edit: nvm, didnt see it was obdII only. oh well.
