Smile PockeTwit - Twitter client

See it in action here.

I love twitter, but I just couldn't find a twitter client for my PPC that I liked. So I had some spare time wrote my own. It's pretty full featured -- it lets you see your timeline, replies, other users info, etc. It even integrates with twitpic so you can snap a picture for your status, and search.twitter.com so you can see what everyone's got to say about the latest news.

If you're using a touchscreen, it has a unique kinetic interface, so it's kind of fun to scroll up and down and view the menus on the sides. If not, it's still easy and functional

I'm still actively updating it, with about a release per day. It includes an auto-upgrade feature so it can check for the latest version and upgrade itself.

If you're a twitter user, you can try get my client from the google code site. Let me know if you have anything to say about it. You can contact me and see the latest developments at http://twitter.com/PockeTwitDev.

Re: PockeTwit - Twitter client

I guess no one on ppcgeeks uses twitter... because if they did they would all be posting here about this app... It is awesome man, gps integration and everything...

Seriously if you are a twitter person with a ppc, you should have this...

Re: PockeTwit - Twitter client

Used it today, awesome app for a mobile.
However, leaving it minimized could be fatal - battery drain in a couple hours. (as with most apps that use data)

Thanks a lot for the contribution, Jake!

Re: PockeTwit - Twitter client

Hi, it's nice to see some feedback on this here. To address a couple of the previous posts:

Sorry about the crashes sherv, I have fixed a lot of those issues in more recent builds. If you're still having a problem with the latest build (v.53), please let me know here or @PockeTwitDev on twitter.

When running in the background it will only use power when checking your account for new messages. It defaults to doing this every 5 minutes but you may want to make it longer or set it to 0 to disable it altogether.

Thanks again and be sure to let me know what you think.

After posting that, I hit you up on Twitter, and you helped me out. It works well now. Simply awesome!

I urge non-twitterers to sign up just to test this, and you'll like the app and twitter itself.

Re: PockeTwit - Twitter client

I just loaded this up after a hard reset and it won't take my credentials. I picked twitter for the server, and I tried exactly what worked at twitter.com for my username and password...

edit.... i downloaded the new version and no more issue...
