Activsync won't sync...
 

Ok so i finally decide to flash to the new leaked "official" rom. and for some reason the parallels on my MacBook is not allowing connections anymore. So here i am sitting in front of my sisters WinXP desktop that i used to share with her. I plugged in my touch and it says i have to upgrade to activesync 4.5. i only had 4.2 from my old apache and blue angel. so i go find my touch cd and install activsync. then it connects and tries to sync but doesnt quite make it. the pc says synchronizing but the percent status thing is empty. and the touch only says its connected, not syncing. the left soft key reads "sync" so i press it. then the touch says it's trying to synchronize, but the pc loses the connection on its end. but not completely because if i look in network connections there is an icon for "windows based mobile deice" and its connected. plus the left light is solid amber indicating its connected/charging. Help! I am trying to get this done before i leave on my vacation later tonight.

Maybe download a fresh copy of activsync from microsoft and do a clean install?

Well i had uninstalled 4.2 before i installed 4.5. I just hard reset my touch and now i have it plugged in and both the pc and the touch say synchronizing, but the status bar on the touch is still completely empty, activsync doesnt even have the bar. and its not doing the "looking for changes" part either. they have been in this state for roughly five minutes....

Edit: pc just dropped connection from activsync and touch still trying to synchronize.

I tried it and it worked, i am now successfully on WinMO 6.1 :toothy7:

no problem, i'm not sure why but this seems to happen but on occassion when my Mogul won't connect, i just uninstall, redownload, and reinstall as needed; a little inconvenient but works

I should have thought of that, i used to have to keep the install program foe Activesync on my desktop, because with my blue angel i had to reinstall it everytime i wanted to sync. that was a real pain.

do you set up a partnership or let it sync as a 'guest'. the computer i use seems to only do it when i go through several syncs as a guest. anytime i've actually let it set up a partnership for long term use its ok

Actually these days i have a MacBook as my primary computer so i dont sync that often. Got pimBACKUP and Dashwire to cover me.
