Just saw that Cootek has released a new TouchPal version 3.5 today.

"June 30, 2008: TouchPal 3.5 Released! (new)
CooTek continues the promise to provide THE BEST input solution. This release brings a much better look and feel, a highly extensible engine and yet a lot innovative features like mixed language input (input multilanguage without switching) and unknown word dedution"

Is it me, or does it seem a little sluggish?

No prb. I'm guessing they're trying to stay ahead of the competition in preparation for the new phones coming out soon.

For some strange reason my phone freezes up with this new version, so I have to keep the previous version for now.

Did you uninstall the and reboot the previous version? I had some problems with the update until I uninstalled and rebooted, then reinstalled.

I just purchased 3.0 on 6/29. How do you upgrade to 3.5? Do you use the same registration code?

I cant seem to find on their web the link to download 3.5. Download section says 3.0.

it runs smoother to me actually, than 3.0. I think the fact that the Diamond skin doesn't look as three dimensional as 3.0's blue skin helps. It is also easier on the eyes, lol.

don't worry what it says at the top of the page, just download it. You will see that it's 3.5 that you downloaded.

I really like TouchPal, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to capitalize letters. :(

Hmmm. Can't get the "space after word" to enable/disable by sliding down on the space key. Only works with the menu option now. Seems like a bug.

So whats the consensus on this?

I'm still using 2.0, mostly because it seems to do what i want it to. Is there any significant advantage to moving to 3.5?

I've also noticed this.

Something else I've noticed is when I check the version number - it says v3.1.1008.

Maybe they forgot to the change the build number :scratch:.

But everything else works perfectly! Runs great!

It makes my phone restart now for some odd reason.

Its weird I was texting all day yesterday, and today once i try to text it shuts off.

I am having this problem as well. Tried replying to an email three different times and it sent my phone into a reboot each time. Had to revert to 3.0.

I tried it just now and sure enough it rebooted. I am using the trial version for now anyways cause i can always revert back to 3.0pro anytime I want. Hopefully they fix this bug soon so I can upgrade permanently.

I just tried this. It doesn't restart, but right after typing "lets", touchpal does get a little bit sluggish for a minute or so, then it's back to normal.

Guess thats another bug.

Hmmm... Mine says Version 3.5. And I don't have any of the reported issues with text or reply or the word "Lets." Works perfectly on my 6700. And looks great.
I had a minor problem installing it. Had to clear out V3.0 by hand. But after that it zipped right inb place. Much easier than installing previous versions with which I had BIG problems.

Interesting, mine says v3.1.1008 but appears to have the new features and new diamond skin. I'm liking it better than the previous version I had which was 3.0.

Guys; for those who have 3.5 in the build number, perhaps you should attach that file, or upload it; then, the people who have problems, can verify that they are using the actual release, and not a pre-release version.
Just a thought.

Way too buggy. I uninstalled it. Some know issues:

- Resets after typing some select works such as "lets", "ones"
- Sliding down on space key fails to toggle 'space after word' option
- Some 3 letter word will display with mixed capital and lower case letters. For example, 'mpg' shows up as 'MPg'.

I'm surprised they released such a buggy product.

Try turning off the predict based on context. I didn't have the it's reset issue but I turned that off ever since they added it. I actually TRIED to make it misbehave but haven't had any issues other than the how the hell do you toggle precise input????](*,)

EUREKA!!! I found it!!!! slide up on enter! they moved it, so it will take a little adjustment....

I was just going to post that the glitch happened to me, but turning off predict based on context seems to have fixed that.

You're welcome. I just edited my post about the precise input mode. They will appreciate the feedback, but there is a thread that folks are posting about the reset issue there.

I completely deleted 3.0 and tried to install 3.5 and it was unsuccessful in installing.

So I'm going to get 3.0 and again and try to install 3.5

I'm on WM6.1

i cant shut it off when i slide up the enter nothing happens. It says in the help section that the option is only on the pro version

UPDATE: CooTek is aware of the reset bug. They are working on a fix, will post with links when they get their **** straight.
