Yeah, I definitely would try a custom ROM like No2Chem or DCD. Battery life and performance is crazy better.

Looks promising...I'll have to try this out next time I play.

Yeah, you might also want to look into some of the custom ROMS or even just the battery registry changes. There are a lot of battery improvements that can be implemented. I played 18 yesterday and still had 58% of my battery left. This was also after an 8 hour work day so I don't think battery consumption should be an issue.

Re: Amazing Free Golf Software!!!

Will this work with Windows Mobile 2003 on my Garmin QUE5? It has GPS and Windows so thought it might work.

I believe that it is WM 2003 compliant, but there is only one way to find out. Give it a try and let us know if it works. You might have to mess around with configuring your GPS with it a bit, but it should work.

Did you follow these instructions to make sure you are running .NET 2.0?
http://www.freecaddie.com/DotNetIssue.aspx

They are also making a version for Java and Blackberry. Not sure if that helps you though:

I forgot to ask if you need the GPS on before running the program?

Yeah you might need the GPS on before running it. It might turn on when you load up your course file though. Make sure you set it correctly either to the right COM port or using "Set by Windows" in the FreeCaddie: Menu > Settings > GPS Settings > [Select your COM or Windows]
