Folks,

thanks for the testing and the feedback.

Attached is version 0.3 beta 4.

Changes:
- Smartphone UI
- Added PING2 message option
- Added notification bubble (for PPC only)
- Program now quits after message is sent
- small general improvements

As for the PING2 function: I added this for all the people whose provider will automatically transform Type0 messages to normal SMS. This function uses a different method for sending a "silent ping" which should enable all users to send those messages, even on US carriers. The principle is pretty simple: I'm sending a MWI deactivation, which is not shown to the user, and request a status report. If you receive the status report, you known that the "pinged" phone is active.

Cheers

This is to make them think you called them. Best i can do..
cPerdidas 0.5 - A program to do missed calls

This program will make a missed call appear on your friends phone without actually calling them. Seems like a good idea if you just want someone to call you back without disturbing them with the ring. You write the number or search it on the Contact list and click “Do a miss call!” and the program do a missed call.
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6...didas05ym5.jpg

Make sure you add the county code through “Settings ” button on the taskbar. Make sure its with out the lading zero/+ , for eg Australia code should be 61
Changes in 0.5
[+] Language support without file. Supported langs: French, german, spanish and english
[+] New Interface with Images
[+] The programs runs fastest (1500ms) ~ 1.5 secs more fast
[+] Favourite Contacts
[+] Now the cPerdidasF.exe and Tapilib and the config file not have to exists in “/”. May be anywhere

I dougt that there is an application that can do that, but i know of calling card which you can buy that are really nice to prank people with, i used it before on my friends and it works nicely, its called spoofcard (look it up on google), the nice thing about it is that you get to pick the number that shows on your friends caller id, it also has a voice changing feature....lol.

Check out this website. If you want to do an impression this is no use, but it is a wonderful pranking phone call tool that will let you enter text and choose a voice that will speak it as well as customize the phone number and person that will show up on caller id.

edit:
found this too on another forum I frequent:

orginally posted by BIGJOE on lowandloud

Well I better get major props for this. The trick is, you can call anyone and make any number show up on the caller ID. With this you can prank people, scare people, or just simply **** with there heads like making it look lik the person is calling themselves. Or even that the devil is calling them. Heres the steps.

1) Call 1407 386 3737
2) As soon as it connects, press 5 and then dial the number u want to call and ignore what the operator is saying.
3) Then you press * and enter the number u want it to say but it has to be in this formant , 1*** *** **** like a real number
4) After you entered the number u want to show up, press pound and wait a few seconds. It will say You Just Hacked The Gibson
5) There will be no noise. You wont hear any rings but when someone picks up youll hear it and be able to talk to them.

Yea, my iPhone friends have been using their SpoofApp program, and it seems very interesting! I would definitely like to have something like this as an application. I've seen some calling cards that are used, but that isn't very practical.

it is illegal in the united states. it's also considered a federal crime if you get caught spoofing caller id.

99% of these spoofing companies are located overseas for this reason.

i never answer a number i don't recognize anyway.. so knock yourself out :D

Re: caller id spoof application

Whoever told you it is illegal is crazy, it's not, and should not be. Although, most of the TelCos are relatively tough about doing something fishy with spoofing, a friend of mine has AT&T and they let him have Walter Payton as his Name in Caller ID, they would not let him show a different # though (he wanted to show his cell# from his land line).

If Spoofing was illegal, that would mean every land line would have to show it's number (or no number) In my store I have 5 lines, they all say the lead # so when I call out from any of my lines, it shows as if I called you from the lead number in my hunt group (my public tel# if you will). Outlaw spoofing, and and only outlaws will spoof...

Re: caller id spoof application

Being as I don't see much more happening with this thread, I'm going to hijack it for a post.

Knether, I must be missing something.

I see this as a tool. And as with many tools, it could be used for wrong-doing.

A hammer may be used to kill someone; hammers should still not be made illegal.

Why would I want my business lines to show a bunch of different #'s to the public when dialing out? I want them to call me on my main # and the hunt group rolls it to the next open line automatically -this is not something that should be illegal.

I understand about stalkers and such, but how does this stop them, go to a pay phone/disposable cell/use someone else’s phone/*67, the stalkers of the world will figure out a way to get through....

Stalking should be illegal, fraud should be illegal, showing a different number to the person you are calling is no crime.

The second link posted above, http://www.threadwatch.org/node/5793 - pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I am no stalker, nor am I involved in fraud, and this would negatively affect my business and my phone system. Sorry if you don't like it knether, and I respect your side of it (stalkers), however this doesn't really stop them, or make it easier to stop them.

You're in IT, right? Should IP spoofing be illegal, or should the damage done by someone using IP spoofing be the part that is illegal?

You started this and no one asked for your opinion. The topic we were discussing is "caller id spoof application" and not whether it is moral to use caller id spoof application.
